Like I get what you're saying but you could justify removing stuff like chests, villages, even locked doors and enemies, by the same logic. I guess to me the chance of it getting you killed is the fun of it. It creates fun gameplay experiences.

With the exception of perhaps Hector Mode Unfulfilled Heart (in which one of the shops is guarded by Vaida, necessitating some rescue shenanigans to use it without baiting her... of just using a unit with mounted movement), shopping never creates danger. It creates tedium, as you have to redo it if you restart the fight. This is not fun.

The rush to a treasure chest or a village on the other hand is a great thrill which also punishes degenerate turtling strategies. It's obvious how that adds to the game. If there were a map where you had to rush to a shop before a bandit ransacked it I'd agree with you that there are some merits to the system!

There are definitely other dangerous shops if you're trying to access them during the battle (as opposed to, say, when only the boss is left). Pirate Ship and a few of the early maps come to mind. Mind you, they don't really create danger in ideal play (but few things do) but I mean for like, the average player.

I'm definitely a proponent of battle saves/turnwheel to not have to restart maps and do stuff like this over again though! Not denying that that part gets tedious.

Also I don't wanna derail the topic anymore so I'm gonna drop it here but tl;dr it's a flawed mechanic that I like.

sometimes In RPGs, I find a good grinding spot, and I do it for hours, maybe days

it doesn't feel like work, I'm enjoying myself, and I like getting stronger, and its not burning me out

then when I stop, I don't feel motivated to keep playing the game. I don't feel burned out, and the game SHOULD be easy to steamroll since I'm so powerful now

You can revive people?

You can revive people with a one-shot staff that you get late in the game.

You kill her and revive her so that you can have two manaketes for the final boss: the requirement for unlocking the second manakete is to have neither Tiki nor the Falchion at the end of Chapter 24. The super-pro-strat is to hand the Falchion to Tiki and kill her off in that chapter. You'll unlock Nagi. The Falchion then shows up in your inventory (because that's what happens to any killed character's inventory in this game, IMO one of the nice improvements this game introduced). Then you can revive Tiki in the next chapter.

Silly but it works and doesn't require massacre of your entire army like all the other side-chapters.

Okay so I made Marth go the long way around (with Caeda as back up, flying along the mountains) so he can go tot hat village, I repaired the bridge and I'm having my men go north then west to meet on the units and tank that Camel dude until I can have marth speak to him

Dracoknights are vulnerable to bows. However, the only ballista that gets the anti-flyer bonus is Arrowspate.

I did the map again and it was more successful. I could not recruit the guy using anybody. Minerva didn't even have a talk option, they did have a dialogue if I chose to attack him with her but that was it. He was loyal to his land and I could not turn him so I had to kill him

And oh my God Tiki is so powerful, I never used bantu as much as I could have it, so I'm not sure if she is better or not but I'm impressed now

Bantu was decent early on when his dragonstone gave him enough boosts to make him better than the enemies you were facing, but his terrible growths mean you can't use him for very long. Tiki has great growths and can use the divine stone. She's much better, plus when you get the starsphere you can give it to her and have an unlimited use divine dragonstone.

Maria and Elice can use it, as well as Caeda and Minerva if you reclass them to a class that can use staves.

There's no point in promoting Elice, unless you don't have anyone else to promote and you have an extra crest. She can use the Aum staff at base, and that's the best reason to use her.
