Yeah, this. Often, someone just sits down in a chair and it's whatever. Sometimes you get people who prefer a side. I've seen rock/paper/scissors or coin flips for sides, but it's really rare.

Probably after blowing those first three games of grand finals, Sonic Fox wanted to switch up something. Since the reset is officially an entirely new match in the bracket, I don't blame him for asking about the seats as if they're both sitting back down from scratch, hoping to get the momentum back, or feel comfortable on the other side or whatever.

DBFZ takes a really long time. Like even longer than SSBM which people say takes too long. 3.5 hours was schedule between the start of DBFZ and SF5 and in reality it took 4. Also a lot of those DBFZ sets were 2-0 or 3-0 as well.

This is typical and I'm don't think there are any solutions other than cutting games. They start at 8am Pacific and run all day. They also run a lot of finals on Saturday and they get a lot lower viewship due to having to compete with other games running at the same time.

Though it seems to have shrunk in grandeur since 2016 when I started really paying attention to it.

i think the problem is that sfv has lost a lot of of the fgc-casual support, myself included. SF4 i was with it pretty much all the way, even after the BS additions of yun/yang/rolento/elena. but the scene is such that sf/capcom isn't carrying the entire genre like it did back when SF4 saved it

They really can't cut away to player interviews because the players are getting ready for their matches too and need to strategize and watch the games in front of them to see their future opponents.

You interview the players who just finished, not the ones who are about to go on. Not only does it make way more sense logistically, but it also makes for better interviews.

And I don't mean between matches of the same game, just during the time while they're switching from one game to another.

To be fair, many of them play more than one game

And there's a good chance the losers may not want to be interviewed. >_>

could easily get analysts to dissect some of the gameplay to kill the time

that's how they do it for League of Legends

match ends > interview winning team for 5 minutes > analysis for 5 minutes > ads with a countdown timer 5 minutes until next match
