https://www.shape.com/healthy-eating/diet-tips/is-keto-diet-bad-for-you-downsides

Keto is interesting. It basically forces you down in calories by removing the filling calorie foods. However, it also questionably deprives you of vitamins, minerals, and other things you generally need. It also has been questioned, though not proven, to cause lidney and liver disorders.

So, it will work if you follow it. But, be aware there could be drawbacks.

I do Keto and take a multivitamin, magnesium, and potassium chloride every day, counteracting those drawbacks.

Should I be taking additional magnesium and potassium even if they're found in the multivitamin? I also take fish oil and a supergreens supplement.

With proper inclusion of fiber through adequate greens as well as supplementation (and plenty of water), keto isn't dangerous.

Of course most people in the present fad do keto differently from the form that's typically prescribed to epilepsy patients because they take far more protein which results in a greater degree of gluconeogenesis. So the glucose availability for the brain is greater than for those under medical supervision.

It's also never recommended to relevant patients to be on it for longer than six months and there's a dearth of information on effects lasting beyond that.

Most multis dont have enough potassium and magnesium, and unless youre eating a TON of spinach/kale, youre probably not getting enough.

My first 2 months I didnt take the extra supplements and I was having cramping in my legs after any hard work. In the 2 months since, I feel great.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ENS39XK

Id recommend getting this, and putting 1/4 tsp in all your water.

With some 0 cal water flavoring, it makes it taste vaguely pedialyte-esque, which Ive come to enjoy, and it also makes it so much more hydratingon top of giving you your potassium you need.

Oh yeah, I also take psyillium husk fiber supplements, which is definitely required if youre having heavy meat/cheese days.

I also take Benefiber, though maybe something so mainstream isn't as effective as Psyllium Husk, though I have used the powderized version for baking.

I take this one for Magnesium

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sundown-Naturals-Magnesium-Caplets-500-mg-180-Ct/44932770

Its just 1 tablet, so its super easy, and the price was great for the amount.

LapisLazuli posted...
I've been on Keto a week and I've already lost 11 pounds. Is that...normal? I'm not even going hard yet, just keeping it under 20.

Whatever you are doing, the weight loss is not from the keto diet. Maybe you are dehydrating yourself or whatever.

This is my calorie deficits for the past week or so.

1000 calorie deficit is the goal (so these numbers are after the 1000 calorie deficit). And everything here is relatively averaged out. I over estimate food calories if unsure on what they are. I don't add in any exercise for calories spent other than what the step counter tracks. So anyways. Here we are
Date calorie deficit steps
8/11 -253 11435
8/12 -277. 11147
8/13 -167. 8008
8/14 +242. 6235
8/15 +143. 6879
8/16 -692. 10995
8/17 -1067 10082
8/18 +359. 10546
8/19 +135. 4376

Puts me at a deficit of 10,577 calories for the 9 day period. Which in theory is 3 lbs

Of course, this is over averaging calories and also doesn't take into account that the step counter can't understand those steps are pushing a lawn mower up and down an acre of yard over and over or me doing labor at wodk. But, good enough.

I've lost 11 pounds in six weeks.

The way I do it is by eating only 600 to 1000 calories on two days a week; on the other days, I don't restrict myself except by only eating when I am hungry. I try to have small dinners also. Mix that with walking 70,000+ steps a week... and it's working like a charm.

I lost 30 pounds in eight weeks and now have been stuck at 230 for a month.

I am doing the exact same things I was doing when I was losing. Eating right and Beat Saber.

Someone explain this Witch Craft.

So when I moved back to cinci two januarys ago, I was 145, which is overweight for my height.

After being sad and not wanting for a bit, I lost weight, but regained emotional control and was exercising plenty at my job. Dropped down to 125.

In spring, I overate and drank a lot and was knocking on 140 again.

So this summer, I started going to a climbing gym every two days, and now that I'm starting a new school year, I'm eating less. Down to 131 this morning.

Losing weight over the summer hasn't really happened, but I've been putting on muscle. My arms look pretty good. Trying to lose a little more fat to get my shoulders and pecs more defined.

No just have not had much to post. Haven't had gym time but am walking more during down time just trying to get it to add up.

Cool story though. I met up with one of my cousins last night whom I told about ddp yoga a while ago. Turns out he has been doing it for about a month and he has been walking without a cane for 3 weeks now and looked fantastic. So it definitely works, I will be subscribing soon
