I had the S5 for quite a while and it was pretty much cooked at a certain point but I hung on for a while until the screen cracked. By then the S8 was out, which I bought in April of last year and am still using. It's still mostly pretty good.

What if the Cubs and Brewers tied for the division and then Dodgers and Rockies tied for their division? That would be pretty wild, if you ask me. You can just imagine that it will mean lots of excitement!

I guess the Cardinals could tie for the division too but they'd have to win out and the other two lose out

I'm imagining that crazy scenario right now and it does seem really exciting

I went from an S5 to an S8 as well. My S5 still worked but the battery wasn't great anymore.

God, deGrom is good. He should be the MVP but he only went 10-9 so he won't.

They're going to take the easy way out and vote Yelich. Yelich has been good! Great! But not team changing!

I dont know why people act like there are intangibles to the cy young. Bottom line is the dude has a sub 2.00 ERA. He's the undisputed best pitcher in the NL by a good margin

Ok. I've said the Cardinals are done many times but now it is truly undeniable. Here's what just happened.

Two outs. Down by 1. Bottom of the 8th.
Carpenter takes a walk.
Adolis Garcia pinch runs.
Jose Martinez ground ball to third.
Moustakas makes a throwing error with the runner going.
Garcia, the speedy outfielder, is of course waved in.
He trips on the third base bag.
He falls down on his stomach.
The catcher gets the ball and you can't even see him yet on the screen.
Out by 40 feet, would have been safe on a normal run.

I've heard so much talk about how deGrom's record doesn't match his stats that part of me thinks all that spotlight is helping his chances.

Well the Cards couldn't have fallen harder on their faces in this series. Losing another game in the standings to everyone tonight sure makes it hard to see a route to the playoffs.

The Giants have a (slim) chance of keeping the Dodgers out of the playoffs. Obviously it's still not a good season for the Giants but that outcome would leave me very satisfied.

I'm not thrilled that the Cards lost even though I know it's good for my team. At this point I know the division is very reachable; if they fail to sweep this Phillies team that has completely rolled over I can only be mad at the Rockies. The Nationals haven't totally given up yet but those games are winnable too.

That being said the Rockies have currently outscored the Phillies 32-4 in this series so you just know they're gonna conclude with a dumb 3-2 loss or something

Idk. The phillies have been baaaaaaaaad for like the last month and a half and especially so the past two weeks. I think their spirit is broken

I see there are some Dodgers fans with some "us against the world" mentality because we've been kicking ass against some recently-eliminated teams. I doubt that they are rolling over for the Rockies specifically, but it's fun watching the Dodgers fans get mad anyway.

Then there is also the Giants moving Bumgarner's last start back so he starts against LA. They can legitimately be mad about that, but it's also hilarious, and understandable since they're the Giants' biggest rival. Their team has won five straight divisions and they wouldn't be in this mess if they just won 95 games this year like they should've, so I can't feel too sorry for them.

I still want the Cards to make the playoffs of course, but since my hopes for that are evaporating more and more by the day I'm hoping the Brewers and Rockies can end up winning their divisions. Big problem for Milwaukee: they need help from the Cardinals since they're playing the Cubs to close the season

Oh, just noticed that the Cubs and Brewers are officially in now, though the division is still up for grabs. There's still a possibility that it could be Rockies-Cubs for the wild card, and I don't want that... do I? The Cubs just sound scarier to me than the Brewers, even though the Brewers have been the hotter team lately.

So I have a fantasy football bet...the loser has to buy a T-Shirt of the winner's choice and wear it in public to Olive Garden twice (we have bets where losers buy OG for winners, so we have at least 2 trips to OG lined up) and then 3 other times (not to work or anything like that). And the shirts can't be overly vulgar or anything.

IF I win, I'm trying to decide on a good shirt. I have 2 ideas so far but am 100% open to suggestions.

David Dahl has homered in four straight games. Why wasn't this guy getting more playing time? I guess the rationale is that he can't hit lefties, and they have a logjam of left-handed OFs so they try to get all of them playing time against righties, but it's not a very good one. I mean, Parra sucks, they just have to face that fact.

With these Kavanaugh hearings (not watching but following along at work) it's very tempting to say that this country has hit rock bottom, but since he might yet be confirmed next week we have a ways to drop still. And also, always take the under on where rock bottom for this country is I guess

I don't think there is a rock bottom. Republicans have proven time and time again they'll sink as low as they want if they know they can get away with it. Rather than actually do something good, they'll just preserve/increase the disproportionate voting power of the substantial proportion of America that doesn't give a shit about holding them accountable

Yeah. Plus we one time fought a civil war over the right to own other humans. And I guess the ICE detention centers are worse anyway. No point in even having goalposts
