the other time was a watch, which i'm almost grateful for because it taught me why watcher is a busted role

Watcher is like handing Town a dead roleblocker if the player knows what theyre doing, yeah

(To be fair the roleblocker died early this game)

When I was up front from the start of the game that I wouldn't be available at deadline because I was in class
People followed for some combination of "It's chris" and "I'm scum"
The flavor was literally my favorite video game in the history of video games (Majora's Mask)
I knew the game would probably be my last because I was cohosting the next one in the queue (The second ASOIAF one iirc), and I'd be starting a job after that leaving me without the time or desire to play

I'm still mad, years later

And yes, I realize it's more than a bit petty to still be mad about this, which is why I've avoided bringing it up before now.

Going to post this here because I think this is a better spot than the DVC at this point.

What if for ties the player that was originally in first place is the player that gets lynched? Unless both are -1 or something.

What made you so certain I was scum

Didn't read my novel very well I see.

Main Issue for Scare: He was only town when it came to me. In my game he prodded Red quite a bit and expressed appropriate suspicion to a lot of people, here though had just empty bravado and was that classic 'Town Scare' trying to bully me around, and that's it. Now I have noted Scare could just be bad at mafia this game, always a possibility, but it is a bad look that he didn't probe red more. Because Scare as town should be just as fierce against red as me, but when red made a post about Plum being scum in two leans scenarios (which I myself didn't find alignment determining even with hindsight, a town red with leans doesn't for sure vote Plum there) that I should have voted for Red. BUT, Scare clearly thought it was bad... so where was his red vote? He should have been like Oh they are scumbuddies, crap. But... no, just using it to push me and didn't pressure red for it in a good way. My reason is because I didn't mind it, but he did because it was a red flag for red (...pun not intended) but not enough to press him at all, only shade me. That's bad mafia play without internal consistency.

Anyway I don't recall what specifically you did but in essence you just weren't playing sound mafia. The decisions you came to were poorly thought out to the point that knowing that you aren't an idiot was problematic. You weren't building actual good cases. A bit of the opposite of dowolf who built good cases but I recognized they were glass houses.

the issue was as town I do go after plum and I didnt want to put the game in a state of him vs me when it didnt look like we needed to, so I stuck on pirate for a while and I thought rule 1 on Blade would fly. and If I built a case on Blade I think it would have but I played loose and his trolling me shut it down

The problem is your scum game isn't as developed as it needs to be. That's really basic thinking.

You don't just go 'Okay I would go for this as town' you need to also think 'what wouldn't I go for?'

For example. Would town Scare in a game with me, red, blade, han, MI . . .

go after a newbie that hard? Big dick Scare, very proud, would he take the easy route of pressuring a newer player? Even if he is scum, what's the thrill of that. So many strong players, so many possible scary scum teams for Scare to frighten. To get a bead on. You straight up ACCEPTED that I ignored you for large swaths of day one and you never really challenged anyone.

Rule 1 is such a trash argument from someone with your reputation. It's just poor play and that's why me and han were just sighing and why I basically had you nailed night 1.

I can't know what the other people were thinking but my case on you was amazing. As was Han's. I mean to me upon reflection you just... didn't have any town spark. I mean that paragraph from my is 'dead scum' in paragraph form. I bodied you in that paragraph and laid out beautifully why you had no town perception. If lesser players have a sense but can't phrase it as well, it isn't a surprise.
