SSSS.GRIDMAN ep1 - Oh snap MC is eating cereal. You rarely see cereal in anime. The waifu game in this is pretty strong. People werent reacting as much as I thought they would be to seeing a kaiju and giant robot and stuff. This was pretty good stuff even though a lot of references were likely lost on me

Oh my god this Jeanne show

Jeanne dArc show ep1 - man this guy already has a harem of women who want him and its been like 2mins. Theres a girl? called Philip. I use a question mark because uh theres no way thats ever a girl name, but the character dresses and talks like one. Also Philip literally pissed herself/himself. Random attack in the woods by English soldiers while MC-kun was out looking for fairies with his harem. MC and his harem swear to be friends forever even though theyre all the children of nobles from different countries. One of the girls in his harem has an attendant that is apparently a guy she is making crossdress as a girl XFD what. She told him to wear panties tomorrow. Another of the harem girls has a brother who confessed to Philip. His own sister kicked him in the balls after he let it slip that he reads porn and he looked more defeated than the goblin rape victim in Goblin Slayer. She got called off to war and MC-kun wants to save her. Hes been trying to do alchemy and a fairy queen showed up and told him to swallow the philosophers stone like other great figures have done before including the man himself Jesus Christ whose name was pronounced unbelievably weird. Sounded like Yee-Us Christo. Anyways he has to make an Elixir first so he wont be poisoned by the stone and then it randomly skips ahead 7 years because apparently he was so focused on making it he had no idea 7 years had gone by.

Also Jeanne was nowhere to be seen or even mentioned in this episode at all. I spoiler bard it in case anyone cares, but its mostly about how silly the show is.

Decided to watch ep 1 of the slime isekai on a whim. I tend to enjoy isekai more than most, but I still suspected it would be garbage. But I actually kinda liked it!

Roomie wanted to watch Gridman so I switched to sub to rewatch 1 with him.

I thought the dub was fine, but I was super wrong. Dub VA for the lead girl is way off, makes her seem like a different character.

You don't like it so far? I just finished episode 2 and plan on putting it a good bit higher on the season ranking, episode 2 was way better than 1.

I checked out some other airing anime

My Sister, My Writer definitely wasn't good, but it also wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting. I like the whole stand-in author concept between the two siblings, and the characters seem decent for the type of show that this is. Whether I ultimately like it or not will all come down to how it handles the subject matter, but for now I'm tentatively optimistic.

Boarding School Juliet, by comparison, was awful. I hate every single character so far, from the 'strong girl who is actually weak and needs a man to protect her' main girl to the 'faux-tough guy screeching goofball' main dude. Both of their personalities are paper-thin, and their relationship is somehow even thinner. These first two episodes were also basically the same thing. Guy tries to be alone with Juliet, fight breaks out. Repeat that fifty times, each more annoying than the last. Ugh. I'm seriously debating whether or not this was worse than Conception.

In most cases, if I don't like it, I just drop it. Other times, like if it airs on TV, I watch it. Then in one other case, Fate, I watch because part of me really wants it to actually become good, but that won't happen unless Strange Fake gets an animated adaptation. Also so that nobody can use "Well you didn't watch it, how would you know?" when I say I don't like Fate.

3 episodes out from the end of Season 3 of Attack on Titan....and this is by far the best season and probably my show of the year.

It's extra impressive that I already knew basically all of this stuff having read the manga, but the anime really gives it that extra oomph. And there are many details I had forgotten so seeing them here again is great.

I mean that's very possible. Season 3 so far has cut out a LOT of dumb boring bullshit, basically every issue I had with this part of the manga was removed by the anime.

The issues I have from here on out are more fundamental, though. It would be difficult to manage without changing the work. But god do I ever hope they do.

As for why I'm annoyed, AotY purposes, lol.
