There's no reason whatsoever for the beating. Just stop the person and restrain them. Now if they're being violent, that's a whole different story.

If they are beating someone beyond the point of subduing them I would say yes, but you gotta remember their job is to protect people, especially any VIPs on the stage.

No, that's clearly excessive. The person should just be restrained. If it comes down to it, it makes more sense to tackle them than it does to punch them.
