Like, near the end of the 2016 primaries, Ted Cruz tried to play up the bathroom issue, and even GOP voters didn't care. NC voted out a Republican governor (while voting Trump!) largely because he was behind a dumbass bathroom bill. But was that necessarily because they hated the idea of the bill or was it more because it was drastically impacting the state economically?
