Gender dysphoria should be treated with compassion but I do think this kinda stuff should be reigned back in to a reasonable degree to reflect a factual basis rather than pseudoscience.

It's already based in evidence and science.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/is-there-something-unique-about-the-transgender-brain/

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/05/180524112351.htm

I don't think this scientific research goes as far as you'd like. It's a far cry from saying transgender people are born with the other gender's brain or that it's some unfortunate mismatch. Interpreting this research in such a way is pseudoscience.

They say male-to-female subjects tended (not as a rule, in other words) to have thinner cortical regions in part of their brain like natural females. Who's to say there aren't millions of males comfortable with their natural gender walking around with those thinner regions? How can that be? They also admit that "behavior and experience shape brain anatomy, so it is impossible to say if these subtle differences are inborn."

If further research in the coming years more conclusively backs it up then the laws should reflect that.

If you're not allowed to discriminate on the grounds of sex in the first place, why's it so important to define people as one or the other in the first place?

It's pretty much "okay, so you're gonna be called a man now, not a woman. Now since we're not allowed to discriminate, you're going to get the exact same rights and responsibilities as before".

Like surely you'd think the government would have bigger matters to worry about than this?

No.

So this is what your point hinges on?

Harvard simply has a other category for their admissions criteria, for stuff such as compassion, empathy, leadership, etc. Turns out that Asians tended to score lower on those.

There was never some sort of cheat sheet where if they checked on a box that says Asian? They automatically deducted 20 points of them or something. Up to this date, Harvard denies subtracting points based on race, period.

Not that you give a fuck, youre too happy calling me dense and hijacking my topic and turning it into yet another waaaaahhh! But teh Asians!! This is what really matters! Topic.

And if you think about it, such a thing would subtract empathy and compassion points from you and SMAL in a Harvard app, so maybe the system works and you just proved it has nothing to do with being Asian :^)

Plants aside, there's plenty of things that can reproduce asexually (read: not male or female). There's the hammerhead shark which, in the absence of males, can have one female turn into a male capable of reproducing. Polyembryony is classified as a form of asexual reproduction, humans can have identical twins or triplets and there's actually millions of them. The Timema genus of stick insects have reproduced asexually for millions of years.

Oh and of course Tetrahymena thermophila which have 7 equivalents to sexes and can mate with any but their own respective one.

But hey, I know you know how to Google and use a university credential login to quickly read the brief on some papers regarding whatever animals you come across.

Without trans people there would never have been the Stonewall riots which invigorated the gay rights movement. Gay and trans people share that whole "socially shunned for an inate aspect of their selves" thing as well as the fact that simply by existing they're fighting against established gender norms. And of course, it's common for trans people to date people who fall somewhere in the lgb segments of the community.

Being able to switch doesn't equate to there are more than two. It just equates to "can change between the two".

One could, along the same lines, argue intersex is "a combination of the two" rather than a separate, third one, too. Whereas that Tetrahymena thermophila example is, without a doubt, an example of more than two.

(Side note, anyone remember that "73 genders" meme on GameFAQs way back? Amusing how life reflects memes.)
