Just finished Chapter 4

Story is really interesting so far.

Looks like I missed a mission in Chapter 2 and another in Chapter 4. Any chance I can get back to those? Or are they lost forever?

Several people I've helped have run away with barely even a thank you.

I think they show up again at some future time to return the favor. The snake bite guy for instance meets you later on at the gun shop to give you said reward.

I really like how helping random strangers can either be incredibly lucrative or almost totally pointless (other than the goodness of your heart of course).

Also if you run a wagon directly into a tree, is there a way to get it off? I was doing the oil wagon heist with John in chapter 2 and got stuck right before the destination, so I just shot it until it exploded and did the last bit again.

I had this same problem. Use R1 to back up.

Yeah, I did the same thing. Maybe its lowered honor if you swiped from the wagon, but I just left after awhile. At least there was the first honor boost.

I wanted to do gun upgrades and upgrades on my camp.

If I had felt like the money making methods (hunting, selling stagecoaches, robbing people) were effective, I wouldn't have resorted to this, but everything else is just an inordinately slow grind so I went this route.

Met this guy who asked me to go get some stuff out of a house for him. Turned out he used to be a guy who retrieved Slaves. So I killed him.

Also completed a challenge about killing rabbits on horseback, but I think all of them came from running them over by accident.

I went to Rhodes early coz I wanted to play Blackjack, and I'm probably gonna go to some other areas early coz I wanna get that Poker achievement, but other than that I don't wanna go to places the story is gonna naturally take me.

Yeah I don't like visiting certain places early. I like the idea of discovering new places as they continue on with the story. That doesn't mean that I've been progressing through the story very fast either though, every new area I find I scour pretty heavily.

I only went out of the way to hunt the legendary Buck because its bonus is too good to pass up. And I traveled all across the map to get those Gunslinger photos. But I still have a lot left to uncover.

What bonuses do you even get for hunting the legendary animals aside from cosmetics?

The fence sells charms to add perks, like increased exp points, lowered drains, longer deadeye timers, etc.

I really needed the buck since it automatically upgrade pelt qualities. I have been sitting on that rabbit pelt challenge forever. They are too damn small to shoot accurately.

I got so lucky with one of the perfect rabbit pelts. One was getting chased by a fox and my horse ran over both of them lmao

I don't have any problems getting clean kills on rabbits after getting the dead eye upgrade at the end of chapter 2. The only animals I have trouble getting clean kills on are snakes.

Also, a bunch of animals are mislabeled in-game and rabbits might be one of them. Make sure you're using the Varmint rifle and not the Small Game Arrows on them.

Seeing so many people out there salivating over the online coming out is super weird to me. I've seen so many folks saying they probably delayed it because they thought everyone would skip the single player to just play online. Like, what? Even with GTAV, 99% of the Steam reviews are about online with maybe a "oh yeah, single player is great" thrown in.

I've never seen online as anything more than maybe an afternoon of diversion in these games; seeing so much focus on it is like seeing a baseball stadium full of people who came for the peanuts.

Guilty shark card buyer here. I got a few mansions and all the batmobiles in GTA Online. I poured like 200 hours into that ish.

But GTAV's single player campaign was magnificent, too.

Tonight I got distracted by the story mode and didn't go hunting like I'd planned. I wandered into the territory of a legendary animal but then I didn't bring my fucking bow with me. -_-

I just dont know how they can go as deep with the micro transactions for RDO, because like...what could they add? Not like there are driveable airplanes, boats, or submarines.

They have to make available hideouts.

I can see that being a problem with how the game is set up already because there's no empty buildings.

The map is almost too big for online, too.

In GTA Online, everyone basically gathered in Los Santos, but there's no real central hub for the Red Dead map.

Most people play gta just to dick around in an open world, other players makes it more fun to dick around in the open world. I never even touched san andreas' story for the first few years I played it.
