I found a prospector mining for gold that was marked as a stranger mission. He greeted me kindly and said he hoped that I wasn't here looking for gold because he hadn't seen a fleck.

I got off my horse and went to talk to him and he yelled "You better leave me alone!" pulled out his gun and started shooting me.

Have they improved the online at all? I'll likely never touch it, but I hope it's a good experience for those that are playing that mode.

I ran out of things to do pretty quickly since there's only 8 story missions (although it doesn't reach a resolution so maybe they'll add more down the line)

After that it's just stranger missions, hunting, fishing and doing 16/32 player shoot outs or horse racing

I'm just grinding exp until I hit rank 50 and can finish the platinum

Given that they're going out of their way to plaster "BETA" wherever they can, I'm sure they'll add more missions. Who knows how long it'll take, though.

The online being bad is a blessing in disguise for me because I have so many other games I want to play and now I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

Rockstar keeps nerfing fast XP methods with each update. The current best ways are either luring the police to the mine shaft ladders west of Annesburg and murdering them forever as they climb down the ladders or getting a reward up to 1 before silver ranking and do it and immediately quit and relaunch the application for repeatable 200 xp that saves to your account but doesn't save the fact you did the reward.

I'm doing the latter going from 499 kills to 500 while I watch giant bomb videos, etc

Gold rewards stop being repeatable after 10 times :(

Why would you grind for XP in a game that's probably going to have a hard reset later anyway?

Theres no chance they reset character levels.

They didnt for GTA Online, which had legitimate exploits when it was first released (but they did take some exploited money).

I just want to get to 50 get my platinum and get out at the rate I'm going I should have it by Thursday so long as there's no sort of reset by then it doesn't matter to me

I have all the single player trophies except the gold medal one. Considering replaying the game for that since the game basically handicaps you on replay.

Also good lord why did they make the getting attacked by Grizzlies one 18 times.

Without spoilers, in what way do they handicap you on replaying missions?

you have to do the mission tasks in one go and you don't get to use your current equipment

also your cores are likely significantly lower than they would be with your normal character

Just finished Chapter 6. The emotions were running high at the end there.

I can't recall a character that I've grown to hate more than Micah. I've only just started the Epilogue, but I'm going to be disappointed if I don't get to see him die at some point.

The game also did a pretty good job of making me go from "He isn't so bad" to "Fuck you motherfucker" on Dutch by the end there.

Which ending did you get. There's 4 based on whether you go for the money or go with john and whether you're high or low honor for each of those

I am sufficiently pleased with the Epilogue ending.

I was 100% expecting Sadie and Charles to not make it at the end there. Killing Micah was as satisfying as I'd hoped it'd be. I was not expecting a Dutch appearance at the end either!

Those credit cutscenes felt a little ominous when you know what ends up happening.

I still have to play God of War but otherwise this is my GOTY, despite some of the gameplay stuff being annoying.
