I played the last of us and I don't even remember Ellie much aside from "hey im a little girl who likes to say fuck hehe xd im edgy" to "Joel is a pretty cool guy but I'm still going to say fuck at lot".

The last part of the game (the one where you don't have Ellie) was also the best part so game was probably better off without her, I don't know.

I suppose I should say this... TLoU is a good game. It has withstood the test of at least a medium-short time to show its popularity wasn't just a flash in the pan. There's been plenty of games people gushed over but aren't remembered now at all (remember Heavy Rain?). However, it was also video game oscar-bait and will probably end up being remembered as being middling at best in the grand scheme of memorable games. Why? Ultimately it's own oscar-baiting cripples it in that it's based around novelty and set-piece as opposed to quality. That is to say it's designed specifically to cause the player to feel and act in certain manners as opposed to building a more solid base and mechanics. The result will be an artificial quality that, while it will appeal to award-givers, will crumble over time.

In movie terms think of it like the difference between 'Spotlight' (Academy Award Winner 2015) and Silence of the Lambs (1991). Both won academy awards; but one was oscar-bait that you probably don't even remember while the other is one of the most memorable movies of all time.

I'm not even particularly interested in Uncharted or The Last of Us. Well the truth is more like there are just other games that interest me more.

You need a lot of casuals to make a game into a sensation in the first place, because there aren't enough hardcore players around to pull that off on their own.
Just to let you know there is nothing wrong with playing a casual game, after all you get people of all stripes playing Nintendo games thanks to how easy they are to approach and play. No offense meant, and i didn't expect casual players to post on dedicated game sites to begin with (though you might have lost that label now).
