Mail-in balloting takes a while to count up fully. It takes a couple of weeks to get fully squared away in Washington, where we do it all that way. The time it takes could be considered a downside if you're impatient, but on the plus side, you don't have ballots getting stuffed away in a closet somewhere!

I thought that too, but overall in 2012 Flake's margin went from 5% to 3%. Don't know the exact numbers. Voting this way may skew democratic for whatever reason.

That said there is still a ton in Maricopa and a lot of red parts of that county, so it is no where near over. McSally could still win easily.

Since he posted that roughly 21k from Pima (Sinema's strongest county) came in and so did part of some other county that he wasn't around to post. Numbers there are...I dunno. It could go either way. Maricopa is what matters most. But that is what is left at this point.

I have been very impressed with Arizona, honestly. Incredibly easy to follow and transparent and I would've imagined it would be way more complicated since 25% of their votes are mailed in. Each time votes are added the twitter account for whatever state agency it is (I forget) posts which county is coming in, how many votes, and how many votes are left. Very well run even though it is SUPER slow.

I don't know what is going on in Florida. That is just a straight up dumpster fire. I do look forward to half of the country crying "FRAUD" no matter what happens.

Just got back from a "not above the law" protest in Escondido. (I was holding up a "Whitaker must recuse" sign).

Hypothetically a right wing district, (R house seat). But almost all the cars were honking support. I think we had one heckler while I was there, and one heckler before I arrived (so...roughly two dissenters over the course of two hours?) We also had a couple people roll down their windows and ask questions as they hadn't heard the news.

Something really funny about this that I found while thoroughly researching Sinema some more today:

Sinema first ran for the Arizona House of Representatives in 2002, as an independent affiliated with the Arizona Green Party.[20] She finished in last place in a five-candidate field, receiving 8% of the vote.

It really doesn't, and you know that.

It does and you know that. Jesus.

Scenario 1. Scott sues because they are not being transparent with amounts of votes left and counted so far in a couple of Democratic areas. By law, he is correct. However, in Democratic view, he is trying to prevent ballots from being counted that could go against him. Republican view, without transparency you cannot trust the process and if you say how many votes you have from the beginning and as they are counted the number goes down, you can trust those results. With a possible never ending supply of votes due to no disclosure, naturally there will be distrust of the results.

Scenario 2. Democratic lawyers are going to sue that the ballots with no Senate vote were meant to vote for Nelson and should be counted or were marked for Nelson and not counted. By law, a vote is what a vote is. There is no I meant to. Democratic view, if someone intended to vote for someone it should count and this is voter supression. Republican view, the rules exist for a reason regarding this and if you could allow vote changes based on intent then you have to allow it for everyone which would destroy the process. Then whoever didn't vote should be given votes because they intended to vote and so on. A never ending cycle.

There is very rarely a clear cut correct side. It generally comes down to which side you think is correct.

Uh...I was talking about Donald Trump illegally appointing someone as acting AG (I say illegally since if Sessions was technically fired, then a new AG requires Senate confirmation, and if Sessions legitimately resigned, Trump can STILL only select a replacement from people who were already confirmed by the Senate, not Sessions' Chief of Staff who happens to agree with Trump's desire to hamstring the Mueller investigation.) I really don't care about the Florida stuff.

I really don't care about the Florida stuff.

It quite possible is illegal. There is precedent for it, however. Despite it being ruled against.

"Experts debate whether Whitaker can be acting attorney general without Senate confirmation. One argument in support of the appointment relies on the Federal Vacancies Reform Act of 1998, which says a person may serve no longer than 210 days beginning on the date the vacancy occurs, or once a first or second nomination for the office is submitted to the Senate, from the date of such nomination for the period that the nomination is pending in the Senate. If the Senate rejects a presidents nominee, then the temporary replacement can serve for another 210-day period.

Conway and Katyal said that argument is flawed, citing the Supreme Court ruling last year that Lafe Solomon improperly served as the general counsel of the National Labor Relations Board because he was not confirmed by the Senate. Former President Barack Obama appointed Solomon to the position in 2010."

Something tells me you weren't up in arms when Obama did it though. Wonder why.

Neither of these things is right. Scott trying to stop ballots from being counted is bad. Every ballot should be counted, and he's abusing his current office to try and stop that. If Nelson were to make the argument you're suggesting (and note, he is not; he's suggesting that it might be a machine error) it would rightly be laughed out of court because in this scenario the votes straight up don't exist. If that were the case he might be able to sue whoever was in charge of making the ballots or something, but as far as the election result was concerned he would be out of luck.

Always good to read the context of stuff. I mean, apparently you just ignored everything I said to say "but muh votes!". However, the question is the lack of transparency and following of laws in regards to the process. If they were doing say what Arizona is with transparency and following laws, there wouldn't be the uproar.

r/the_donald is calling for civil war right now because they don't understand voting and think Montana, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Florida are being stolen from them.

Some choice comments:
"After they steal the Senate the (sic) will go after President. What will we do? Just comment on Reddit?"
"What Can we do?! I feel totally helpless sitting in my house while our country is stolen by actual real life fascists. It's infuriating and I don't know what I can do!"
"Lock and load is what you can do. Be glad you can still do that at least"

"Wimpy ass move to sue for future rule. How about going there with tanks and stop this bulshit (sic) right now"

"Fucking whack we should just let the Marines run shit after Trump's second term"

"This kind of stuff is what's going to start an actual war, this open, blatant, and ignored fraud"

"We elect people who don't get it done. Trump can't do it himself. Is martial law a solution?"
"Yep. The Second Civil War has already begun."

"This is a war for our country. No doubt this is only the tip of the iceberg given these last few elections."

"Orlando Pede Here...this is complete Bullshit from the Cowards from Broward. We are livid. Some Democrat Assholes actually called us tonight and started off with.."As you know many people didn't get the opportunity to vote in the primaries...did you vote?" Once. said your damn straight we voted, they hung up IMMEDIATELY...They are looking to add names to fake ballots in Florida. Cot damn I'm pissed."

"Put a small army of US Marshalls n a jet to Fort Lauderdale RIGHT FUCKING NOW! This is a civil rights matter. Broward Zdems are stealing the voting rights of millions of Floridians!"

"Fuck all democrats. No more playing nice with these pieces of shit."
"Gloves are off. I'm getting in shape through these winder months, preparing for their shit next spring."
"Haha I have been hitting the gym 5 days a week in preparation of running into that soy boy that wants to run his mouth or pull a sneak sucker punch."

"We should split the US at this point"
"I WOULD RATHER FIGHT THEM FOR IT"
"Nope. They can either learn to live with us or we can learn to CRUSH THEIR CORRUPTION"

Those are just the violent ones. There are many more advocating arresting big democratic figures to teach them a lesson.

None of them know how Arizona's system works. They all think these are votes the democrats found. They don't understand why it takes so long even though Arizona was very good about explaining everything. They don't care. They just hate democrats so much that they must be at fault and corrupt and bad things need to happen to them.

It is scary over there. More so than usual. Something is bubbling up and I hope it is just bluster.

I don't really know what to say about these people

It's like they think all the same things I think, except they think the wrong versions of what I think and blame the wrong people

And it looks like a both sides thing, except for the fact that... y'know, they're wrong

But I feel like there isn't really any reaching them

Russian trolls are apparently pushing that narrative, so it's no surprise that t_d is biting:

Trump also understood the power of memes, he used them as one of his main weapons in order to win. Memes are SO powerful in society today, they're FAR FAR more than just funny pictures. The video below explains it in detail how he did it:
