i don't think you can be super confident Lightning would have won. a small change like that can affect all those other rounds with how close most of them were. sure, you can be reasonably confident she'd beat Cid P but you can't be confident at all that Cid P would have still made it. and honestly Lightning might not have even made it. it could have very well been Fang still, or Vanille or Sazh.

I think you can be reasonably confident though. Lightning going out only really affected the strength of the other FFXIII characters, and her being in would have affected them all negatively obviously. There really wasn't a large amount of crossover between any other characters around. You can never be certain, but at some point Cid P had that all too familiar air about him that made him destined for the finals.

Vincent looked pretty weak leading up to his elimination quite honestly. He was within 10 seconds of being eliminated by Seymour of all people. I can't really imagine him making a finals run this contest; he just never had it in him.

Alternatively, I'm not sure what would have happened if Seymour had outlasted Vincent. Many Vincent supporters would have switched to Seymour, but still probably not enough to make the finals but possibly enough to outlast Rikku, therefore possibly picking up more supporters from her. Hard to really know for sure I guess, but at the end of the day I still think Lightning had this in the bag had she been here.

I freely admit I like him pretty shallowly, he is v aesthetic (gun! cape! transforming into monsters!). Also his tragic backstory is not bad I guess?

honestly I was late to finishing VII and I was just shocked at how much of a nobody he was. I mean I think Fang is a nobody too but she does have some personality, Vincent is just... there.

Double the resentment for giving me false hope. His design is basically Hellsing Alucard who I ***love***, but then he's just such a snooze I hate him for betraying Alucards awesomeness.

Fun fact the FF characters I hate have designs that appealed to me. I was all into Tifa before realizing every other character minus Vincent is much better, and before playing XIII I even had a poster of Lightning in my room!

... maybe if vchar gets around to a crystal bearers playthrough!... scratch that the gameplay definitely has very selective appeal that most won't put up with but then I intend to record a speeding let's play with fastforwarding for all to watch!... after I finally finished 100% medals and then do another playthrough first to maximize speed of the recording

Im not sure Id say I dislike Vincent, but I certainly dont like him. My 7 opinions arent normal though because I think Yuffie > Barret/Cid > Cid/Barret > Red XIII > whatever

i would go for this plan on the stipulation that Cissnei be drawn with a dick in the picture because regular girl-on-girl does nothing for me. And I would need that insurance to vote because I can't save characters from games I haven't played unless there is just really good porn of them (Kefka clause).
