Was Metroid ever a thing in Europe btw?

Can't speak for the rest of Europe, but my only exposure to anything Metroid related was Mother Brain in the Captain N show and it took until 2006 for me to discover Samus in the first place. When I first saw her in Super Smash Flash, I legitimately thought she was some sort of Xbox/Halo character.

Granted, I was too young for the SNES era and didn't grow up with the N64 outside of Mario 64, 1080, Banjo and Pokemon Stadium.

I'm in Scotland and no gamer I knew as a kid had heard of Metroid until Metroid Prime came out. It might have been a thing, but it was a very small thing.

Samus closed the distance because she wasn't kneecapped by having to field her sprite against Mario's. And Mario winning a last update match doesn't matter - Mario's isn't capable of catching a bandwagon. For a bandwagon to happen, you need to start punching above your weight class and causing shocking results. Mario needing cheating his way over a character he should be clearly beating isn't worthy of a bandwagon. It's embarrassing.

Zelda is going to get like 53% on him and then get stomped by Link again.

I find it hilarious how after a decade of Board 8 complaining about rallies, I see you people on Reddit for every single close match. The hypocrisy is ridiculous. Had I asked my classmates to vote for Samus (who I *love* as a character, try reading my reviews) you would not be complaining.

I know its hard to understand for you, but cheering for a character is not trolling. Its cheering. Am I sitting here calling Samus supporters trolls who suck? No, because Im an actual adult. I have loved Mario for 30 years, ever since I got my first Nintendo and first played Mario 1.

I love Samus. I love Mario.
