Well I'm not tied with anyone right now so it isnt in play. If they say my bracket is ineligible due to being 'incomplete' then yeah that would suck. Hopefully that's not the case. I guess I can ask?

I filled out my bracket quickly before deadline which is why I didn't fill in the tiebreaker. I think like 5 minutes before lockdown

I don't think I'll win anyway as I don't think Mario loses to Zelda a second time whic is what I would need to happen

People can come away from real life with different lessons. For me, I've seen people trash my town for millions of dollars of damage over losing a hockey game. If the worst thing people are doing is making angry message board posts over a contest match, that barely registers as a problem to me. In real life, people can be much, much worse than that.

And beat Ike just shy of how bad Pikachu beat Ike, too! Epona just had tough placement with significant LFF against a GLaDOS who looked her best ever that year.

Was Metroid ever a thing in Europe btw?

Can't speak for the rest of Europe, but my only exposure to anything Metroid related was Mother Brain in the Captain N show and it took until 2006 for me to discover Samus in the first place. When I first saw her in Super Smash Flash, I legitimately thought she was some sort of Xbox/Halo character.

Granted, I was too young for the SNES era and didn't grow up with the N64 outside of Mario 64, 1080, Banjo and Pokemon Stadium.

How did you watch the Captain N show but were too young for the SNES era...?

Re-runs? But I find it weird that show would be on years later.

I remember watching reruns on a Children's TV Channel sometime around the early 2000's.

Also Zelda has a lot of similarities to RPGs which is the genre everyone loves in this site.

Put in a feedback ticket to make sure I am prize eligible and wouldn't be excluded for an 'incomplete' bracket for not filling in a tiebreaker

Good plotline tbh. I would love to watch an Anime where the hero gets destroyed by the villain in embarrassing fashion and then spends the next 13 years growing to finally get her re-match, only to narrowly be defeated this time due to being unable to unleash her full power. Then in the final arc, she finally unleashes her full power and gains the upperhand on the villain for the first time, but the crafty villain finds a way through devious tactics to bring the fight to a last hit situation and picks up that 3rd W in a fade to black. Would be a pretty refreshing story.

Sounds a lot like Ash vs. Alain in the Pokmon anime. I'd rather not.

At least the character has personality (sometimes), it's game gave you good times, and has a face to the name
In Soccer, you have 11 players + bench, the manager etc, they always change, after 10 years it's very unlikely that most of them stayed the same, the clothes change, the brand they advertise change, it's like a complete different thing, and people are still a fan of that "team"

I'm currently at 33rd (378 points) with Cloud winning the two losers matches and Link winning in the grand final. Forgot to enter my Guru bracket this year.

Analysis

In a battle of rematches Cloud was able to extend his victory over Crono while Mario required the final update to take out Samus. Interestingly enough, this is the first meeting between Cloud and Mario since 2002 where Mario used the power of Super Mario Sunshines release and a rally to defeat Cloud. For several contests after, Cloud showed that he would easily defeat Mario in a rematch. Fast forward 16 years and the match has become a bit more debatable.

With the way Mario defeated Sephiroth earlier this contest it is hard to imagine him struggling with Cloud, I doubt many of us would take Cloud to reach around 60% before SFF against Sephiroth. Clouds performance against Crono however, is probably not too far on what I would expect Mario to do. Cloud did have Super Smash Bros. 4 to boost his strength which would help him against Crono, but with Mario that may not be the case. I do feel a bit bad for Cloud fans; if he were to lose here, I doubt he would defeat Mario until possibly the Final Fantasy VII remake.

My point stands, Ash never overcame the "rivalry", which certainly ended after the match (you can't call it a rivalry if it gets abandoned after a short time, it feels like a non-conference game instead). And if you're going to call the Alain match "clean", then Mario's wins were also "clean" as well.

Samus has also never beaten Mario after three attempts. I don't see how this it's totally different from Ash's case. Though I do agree with Alain's entry was quite a reverse deus ex machina, and a really bad one at that.

You know, scratch that, Ash's losses are way worse than what Mario's ever done in these polls.
