honestly the only thing that disappointed me was the lack of followup about Arya and her magical horse last episode. I guess that horse was literally just a random ex machina horse

but other than that I really enjoyed the last finale. Went into actual hysterics at Jon Snow being sent to the Night's Watch. Glad he didn't end up on the throne

Bran as king and Sansa as queen of the north is pretty solid. Everyone is unsatisfied but safe and that was ultimately the longterm goal

I honestly want a sequel series of magical pirate assassin and possible reincarnation of the lord of light Arya sailing west into the new world

As far as series finales go, that was far, FAR, from the worst

it's still pretty underwhelming and it's 100% their own fault for doing this in 6 episodes when it needed at least two more

also the "story" speech was really just terrible/cliche and bran being king really doesn't make sense but gotta make it "full circle" or whatever.

I sort of liked the ending itself, but the journey there was completely unsatisfying.

Like imagine how powerful that last shot would have been if the white walkers were actually the real focus of the final confrontation. Jon Snow doesn't want the throne and people are free to inhabit the North again.

But there were two (what could have been) season-long confrontations in the middle of those events that took all of the energy from it. What a shame.

They went full circle from the first scene in the show so that's cool. That's as good as it could've been.

I like that it was pretty mild and chill. It's the end of the show. It's not supposed to be hype.

Yeah I cant really say that I'm dissatisfied with where anyone ended up. It's just the journey itself.

Bran doesn't make that much sense and neither does Tyrion's pitch but...no one else makes any more sense.

The only real issue with the ending is the same issue the show has had for the last 2 seasons, which is that Jon and Daenerys romance doesn't actually make sense.

They never actually show in any compelling way why they should fall in love with each other, which makes all plot points involving them (which is the majority of the show in the end) feel hollow. If they had a compelling romance that you actually believed, the ending would have a lot more weight to it. But since it's shoehorned in to the highest degree, Jon killing Daenerys like that feels as random as any of the other decisions the writers had made instead of something with weight to it.

I won't aruge with the cliche but Bran being king makes sense. He's basically a near-omnipotent being who can see most conflicts coming in advance and can keep watch over the entire kingdom singlehandedly

it didn't really build up to it but him as king is definitely fitting from a logical stance

in my headcanon, drogon flew up to the scene, saw a sword sticking out of dany, saw the iron throne, and concluded it was the culprit - allowing jon to evade his justice

also team stark cleaning up postgame. bran as king AND sansa queen of an independent north?

kinda silly ending imo, writing and some shots tried to be way too cute or clever imo.

On a more serious note, I really thought Jon was going to say "Dracarys" to order Drogon to incinerate him as his way of passing judgment on himself for his actions. Think that would have been a better ending for him. Tyrion's new ruler system totally gonna collapse shortly after Bran isn't ruling though it was better than that heart stopping moment where I thought Sam would actually pull a democracy end. Arya sailing off not a fan.

So, is he going with the intent to mind control him and put him to work that way? If that's the case, Bran killed everyone in King's Landing.

Honestly I loved this episode. I finally got the satisfying feeling I've been wanting all season, even if some points are weird (I don't believe the leaders from the other Kingdoms would so easily agree to Tyrion's plan of Bran as King but whatever)

Jon got to kill Dany
Jon gets to go off and live a quiet life away from the bullshit
Sansa is a Queen
Arya gon be Arya

AND WE GOT THE PROPER GHOST PAT THEY FUCKIN TROLLED US BUT I'M SO HAPPY WE GOT IT NOW

Those are the things I was hoping out of the episode, the added Bran as King, Tyrion as his Hand, and the rest of the peeps as the council is a bit sappy sure but honestly I'm perfectly fine with it. I'm expecting some people are gonna be mad at how much of a relatively happy ending this was but to me it was satisfying. And after the past 3 episodes I'm more than happy with how this turned out.

If that's the case, Bran killed everyone in King's Landing.

It is implies that Bran predicted, if not orchestrated all of this. No one seems to have an issue with it.

This is the irony of the "story". It is prewritten long ago. Jon had no choice despite all the dialogue. Neither did Tyrion, or Grey Worm, or even Bran. They are all just pawns of the story.

So Tyrion is right that stories are what rule. But in a way that neuters any emotional impact of the episode and the series as a whole.

So, uh, Lord of the Six Kingdoms?

I know there were originally 7, but that's because the Riverland and Iron Islands split off and used to be one and the Stormlands and Crownlands used to be the same as well, but after the split there were nine.

The North
The Crownlands
The Stormlands
Dorne
The Reach
The Westerlands
The Riverlands
The Iron Islands
The Vale

So they call it "Seven" even though there are nine, so it seems asinine to call it "Six" when you lose one- just fucking call it "Eight" if you're resetting.

Jon obviously confessed to what he did, what a dumb complaint.

Speaking of him though, the ending shot of him going off with the wildlings is weird af IMO. If the implication is he's going off with them for good that's... not Jon at all. Even as broken as he is at that point, dude would stay true to his sentence and vows and all that. Only makes sense to me if he's just like... an escort, but that doesn't come across if so IMO.

but as jon points out "there's still a night's watch?" especially since the north is independent now. like my first thought was "well lmao sansa is the one who'd be enforcing anything up there"

I mean there's that one scene where Sansa is all tearful and like "I'm sorry we couldn't do more" and it is just sort of weird and contrived.

Psst hey Sansa the North is an independent kingdom and the unsullied just all left and the dothraki were apparently forgotten about. You guys are good to do whatever the hell you want.

But I think Jon going north to peace out with Tormund is a fine ending for the poor man.

Crownslands never "counted." It's kinda like the DC of Westeros. Iron Island/Riverlands split is legit though and would bring the count back to seven with the North nope'ing out. But I imagine the writers wouldn't expect/respect the audience to get that and didn't want to dedicate a scene to Yara explaining it even though hypothetically Sansa trolling Edmure would be a decent time to do so.
