I actually watched that whole episode because I was on a flight and as a point of pride refused to pay the airline for full Wi-Fi.

It was still complete shit.

The 2/3 falls match was shit, the iiconics match was shit, the angles were the same warmed over shit and the main event match could have sold a PPV under less incompetent

Overall AEW and NJPW relations are very tense since they see each other as competition

Moxley has an AEW contract that allows him to work international shows and American indies when he doesnt have an AEW booking to fulfill that day

So when they run in America, New Japan is neither of those things

But this was all worked out before any announcement about Moxley in G1 was ever made. No one is pulling anything underhanded or sudden

From what I read, the main sticking point is that G1 Night one is gonna be televised on american television and that's why he can't be at the presser or on the show. Which sux I was really looking forward to seeing Jon and Shota's bizarre adventure start off but waiting a week ain't the end a the world.

I gotta say, the takes that AEW is being hypocritical about their whole "break down the walls of wrestling, everyone work in harmony" thing are odd to me. I expected them but I don't think they really make sense.

They can't do it alone. If there's no reciprocation it just becomes AEW being taken advantage of. Why break down the wrestling walls when NJPW will just turn around and build them up again as soon as the show's over?
