Bidens comment sucks because of the pattern.

Why cant Biden speak to a little girl without remarking on her looks?

An extremely annoying part of it all is that his strongest supporters are the former Hillary diehards. Like, how is this your mans?

Too lazy to look up this poll to see if they asked about the other candidates but interesting.

Also just wanna point out that isn't even the most awful thing Joe Biden said this week... (and the jakyl interpretation is how I also read that.) when Joe Biden said that republicans will start being cool again once Trump is gone, a part of my soul died. No fucking way is Biden acceptable if he thinks that.

Is it wrong that the first thing I think when reading this isn't anything about what the poll means, but that the tweet writer doesn't know how math works? With the way they did it, 156% of people who approve or strongly approve of Trump would vote him over Bernie >_>

In better news, House Oversight (Dems + Amash) voted to hold Barr and Ross in contempt. Unless they come to an agreement, there should be a full House vote but who knows when.

Two different votes.

There was a full House vote yesterday that was a party line vote. That vote was empowering House Judiciary to be able to go to federal court and petition a judge to force Barr and McGahn to comply with the subpoenas they have defied. It also allows for other committees to go to court to enforce subpoenas without requiring a full House vote provided they have the blessing of leadership.

Today's vote in House Oversight was to hold Barr and Ross in contempt over their defiance in regards to the Census matter. Amash voted with the Dems on this one.

The tweet is wrong, and they group both "strongly approve" and "somewhat approve" together at 15% when the image itself shows the if they approve of Trump the number is 10% (5% for the first box and 15% for the second).

Sanders - 10%
Biden - 9%
Warren - 5%
Buttigieg - 4%
Booker - 3%
Harris - 3%

Bernie's speech today was very good at comparison between the rise of facism in the 1930s and FDR and our current situation. Loved the bits about how every major gain for workers in on our lifetimes has been decried as socialism. I like the Economic Bill of Rights framing as well.

Incidentally, I read an article a while back shedding light on a similar procedure used between the government of Australia and the Queen as of the 80s. Presumably the same procedure remains in place in all the countries over which the Queen reigns.

The procedure is, before a minister issues formal advice to the Queen, the minister gives informal advice. The Queen can then advise that the advice will be accepted or suggest that it be changed. If the latter, the minister usually makes the changes recommended by the Queen and then issues the formal advice based on the changes which the Queen then follows. But if the minister refuses to make the change requested and issues the original advice as formal advice, the Queen is all but bound by convention to follow the formal advice.

But in principle, it is advice and the Queen could reject it.....which would trigger a constitutional crisis. I suppose the situation here is similar, except since we have a written constitution, it's clear that the president can reject the advice of any of his advisers.

Well, the claim seems to be that Trump can't be charged for his crimes and that we're "not there yet" on impeachment despite the fact that he's pretty clearly committed impeachable offenses, so this still seems to be the most progress that's been had in actually holding him accountable for something!

Well, there's a reason the Trump International in Vegas does not have gambling. Probably the Nevada regulators won't give a license to someone with a history of running casinos into bankruptcy!

In the interest of clarity (and lawsuit avoidance), I am not suggesting that Nevada ever denied a license to Trump or any related entities or people. I am expressing an opinion that Trump may have decided not to seek a Nevada gaming license because he expects to be denied.

Also not really pleased with Warren kind of on an island there, could work to her advantage I suppose, but I'm afraid her performance might get lost because it's almost like a "kids table" debate aside from her (and maaaaybe Beto)

These debates will be an incredible farce and the American people will gravitate towards whichever candidate is the most outrageous because we have the attention span of goldfish. Warren benefits the most by far from this arrangement if people actually watch her night, which they may skip because it has literally nobody else important. The candidate Warren must look out for is Gabbard, who will go after her weak points (campaign and candidate are very very bad on foreign policy and never talk about their plan for healthcare) if she ever is given the chance to. Probably gets two questions about gay marriage instead. The second night the real question is going to be if the other candidates are actually trying to win or not, and we will be able to tell by whether they go after Biden or Bernie.
