i mean, i am loose and free. there has never been a point in my life where the watch hinders my actions in any way. it's not like it slips off or explodes or anything. there is no downside to wearing a watch other than the additional maybe 2 seconds it takes to put it on and then take it off.

i guess maybe if you have one of those expensive, heavy, gaudy watches maybe then it's an issue? i'll admit THOSE are really fucking dumb, my dad wears those and he gave me one for christmas and it's like, the worst thing ever

Fgz5UlM

this is my watch, it's got an expansion band so it slides right on and off, I don't use any of the extra functions on it like the alarm or anything and admittedly I have never seen anyone use the extra features on a watch and I dunno why they're still included on newer watches

i also had a calculator watch I used to wear to work because I was in a place where we weren't allowed to have phones and I needed to do calculations often.

also pps I think that the 17% from the poll is actually too high, i'm the only one I know who wears a watch regularly, it's pretty rare I meet watch-wearers at this point

when I did manage that Amazon warehouse EVERY manager wore a watch. it was a time sensitive environment and the extra few seconds it took to take out your phone to check the time did actually matter on a lot of occasions. most people had never worn a watch before that job but they all seemed to agree that they're pretty convenient and I think a lot of them became watch-wearers outside of work.

They're pretty useful. I wear mine to bed, and it tells me how much sleep I get. Plus how many steps I get in a day, and my heart rate. Battery has to recharge occasionally, but usually only every couple of days.

I used to always wear a watch, and then I got a fitbit (the cheapo kind that doesn't tell the time), and it was just too annoying to have two things on my wrist, or one on both wrists. I tried it for a few weeks and then just dropped the watch.

I just lost my watch for a week, and I felt so lost. I don't want to have to pull my phone out of my pocket all the time when I want to see a clock, plus I use the stopwatch feature surprisingly often. Most important time is when I'm running.

I wear an ultra-cheap digital watch with a velcro band, so it's easy to put on and take off. Only problem with them is they get really sweaty when you're doing any kind of exercise.

To me, it's a burden in the sense of being an extra cost. Why would I pay for something with just one function when I already have that function performed more accurately on my phone? Watches are semi-functional jewelry now, and nothing more.

A traditional watch is purely a style accessory at this point. If you like it that's cool, but I definitely don't see a need to wear one

I wear a fit bit watch that buzzes updates I want from my phone like texts and calls and certain apps(which I never notice on my phone). If I didn't get function that I find value in beyond telling the time (which my phone does already if I really need it), I wouldn't bother with it.

Not sure why Zen feels so strongly about a watch not being any sort of burden. I get used to wearing it but it's an inconvenience to have it on at times, like when I'm typing or cooking. My fit bit also has benefits when sleeping by tracking how much time I actually spend asleep, my dad actually uses his specifically for that purpose, but personally I love the feeling of freedom my wrist feels when I take it off at night.
