Also I blame story mode for the lack of players. Theres more incentive to play Story Mode than endless mode so you are leaving the actual mario maker made levels with a smaller user base.

Story Mode might not actually be the real problem with your stages getting no plays. I found this interesting post over on the Mario Maker 2 board:

This is good though. No wonder I was getting only quality levels in Endless last night. Definitely better than the original Mario Maker.

Yeah every level I've played in endless mode has been at least passable quality so far, which is sooo different than mario maker 1 was, where 90% of levels were atrocious. They must have changed something this time around.

Started working on Thwomp Stomp 4 tonight! Man...is it weird that I wish they just made a Wii U version of this game? It's just such a perfect fit for that hardware. Crazy that neither the Wii U or 3DS stylus works with the Switch. So...what are compatible ones again? Gonna pick one up tomorrow because using your fingers is just not that great.

Aaaand I just spent the last couple of hours since my previous post level editing with the pro controller. Actually not that bad. I...guess I prefer it to using my finger at this point. Gotta get that stylus tomorrow!

Thwomp Stomp IV: A New Thwomp is coming along nicely :D Just have the final section to make tomorrow. Think I came up with a really awesome idea if I can pull it off, but it's gonna take hella playtesting.

E: and yep, I'm totally addicted to level creating once again. Mario Maker 1 is my most played game of all time. SMM2 now owns my life

The Metacritic score is actually 1 point higher than the original (which had an 88 Metacritic).

I think the reason why the Metacritic score for this game isn't higher than this is because this game wasn't ever going to recapture the charm of the original game, despite all of the new content added to this one.

SMW Desert Night, utilizing swinging claws and wind for some crazy jumps.
Features the cape, but very few places where flight is possible, I think. Multiple paths near the end, since I love that sort of thing.

Come shell or high water's middle section was hard... until I went in carrying the dry bones shell instead of riding in it.

Shell to pay, this sort of course would benefit from a reset door if you don't make the required dough the first time. but sure, it was fine. Dropping the shells in midair is the best way to collect the coins on the side there.
