So I'm wondering if his claim is actually true, that he is a lightning rod of sorts, but Mafia aligned

Perhaps for one night it has the power to nullify ALL powers? Even sacrificing their own actions?

Mafia had a redirector and a generic backup, a.k.a. two redirectors.

Mafia lightning rod on top of that seems very unlikely

If that's the case I'm inclined to think ben and 5tar are both town

I honestly don't remember or care much for flavor stuff

As far as flavor goes, I just want to make sure the claims come after the scans

Otherwise it just feels like: "yes that" + mafia sacrifice who was going to get lynched anyway

I understand you not caring about flavor. Though, me having played on this forum and with these players/hosts for many years, it can be insightful to the setup still

We've had games of roughly this size in the past where there was a regular cop and then a flavor cop who was only half-effective. Like half the characters they targeted, the scan would just fail outright (unrelated to alignment) so that it could confirm half of town or damn half of scum, but was worthless on the rest

That's why I asked 5tar's flavor, to see if something like that could make sense

What. Why. That defeats the point of it.

If you scan death and get a guilty scan but are told you are redirected then you know it's a false scan and it doesn't screw you. It's crappy for scum.

1. Red went to Chris most likely due to vig fear. Insane as that is. Red said he went to Chris. He only does that if he fears a track.

2. If mafia had a redirector, it wouldn't have redirected a town role to a scum player. He got back a mafia scan. Your argument consists of him being redirected ONTO mafia. That makes no sense.

3. Ben wouldn't have been a choice for a redirect.

4. In case Ben is scum, I made sure I chose who we voted today and not him. Because 1 of these would be scum. I didn't want to let him decide who to flip.

5. Death has basically abandoned the game. It is a scum admission. He is scum. Let's just make it that easy.

Pez has abandoned it also, to be fair though.

Which is why people arguing against Ben are insane.

You target the power role and then select a new target.

Anything they do will now go to that new target.

If you redirect a scanner who didn't scan Scum, you cause major chaos that you can't buy anywhere else when the scanner is shown to be wrong

You redirect a doc to you you get some protection. Redirecting a night kill is really the only thing you don't want.

Honestly it's probably +EV for scum to redirect to them now that I think about it. I support SBell's logic. I wonder who the one was that kept saying scum would redirect away from themselves earlier in the game. I feel like this happened.

Im not overthinking Im just trying to get some clarity on the role. I dont think Ive seen one in a game before. My extensive experience of 5 games hasnt provided much variety.
