The thing that gets me isn't that it's necessarily bad but that there's so many better things that are in a similar genre. I think it's just a matter of its exposure meaning that lots of people who like that sort of stuff have watched it and vote it instead of spreading the votes around too much. At least Love Live is the pinnacle (or thereabouts) for idol anime. Goblin Slayer is average at best and in a relatively more saturated genre. I mean yeah Berserk is Goblin Slayer times 100 but Berserk with a proper adaptation would be the best anime ever, so. Goblin Slayer is trashy but most anime is. Anime in general is just sitting through trashy moments until you get to the parts you like. LL fans then moved on to Titan this year. I think the closest thing to goblin slayer that's come out recently is Akame ga Kill.
