Hmm, the hiding posts if they quote an ignored user could be more problematic than helpful.

Say I quote a few people and reply to their posts all in one big post (paragraph + structured though!)

If User B has User A ignored, they simply won't see my post at all since I quoted User A.

Why do you expect that? I mean that would imply that you would want to put yourself on a users ignore list and that's not how it works. You might feel the need to use a ignore list but others simply don't. I've never even used the ignore list before.

gamefaqs ignore function hasn't ever worked like that.

it just doesn't show you the person you ignored, they still see you.

True. Personally, I have no one on ignore, so I usually reply to most people. But that makes it so you could end up looking like youre not talking to someone because they have a person on ignore who you are also talking to...

Yeah I reply like that constantly. So I consider that part a trash update. You can quote the old way by just adding the old quote tag way back instead of how it is now but still a dumb workaround and probably moddable. At least we got the old system back with the forum settings. Now if only Twitter would go back to the old way too.

The bigger problem there would be if you've ignored someone and they're following you around and slagging you off in every topic you post in, or otherwise posting heinous shit you'd be inclined to report to the mods. Considering the implied purpose of the ignore function, it might actually be more useful if it hid you from the people you're ignoring as much as it hides them from you.

But I don't actually know of any site anywhere with an ignore function that works that way, so I wouldn't expect to see it here at any point.

Twitter, I think. Though, I think its block. But I know some sites use block so they cant see your stuff. And mute so you cant see their stuff. I think that ProJared block his wife so she couldnt see his page. And some sites have the privacy setting that you can use to make sure only friends or something can see your page...

Not the same thing exactly but blacklists on Steamgifts stop people from entering your giveaways if they blacklisted you.
