Beginning to wonder how far season 1 of Dr. Stone is actually going to go. They've covered 35 chapters through 13 episodes and I find it hard to believe we'll get all the way to 82 to finish the Stone Wars saga with only 11 episodes to go.

Maybe it ends Halfway through the Communications Arc right before they attack Tsukasa's base?

Ahiru no Sora - Oh nice another basketball anime to check out. No idea if it will be better than Kuroko, but Ill definitely give it a shot.

Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! - A girl dies and asks God to make her abilities average in her next life, but that doesnt work out. Oddly enough anichart just lists it as Action and not comedy. The image makes it look like shes reborn into an RPG world or something though so maybe thats why. Ill check out the first episode at least.

pet - Psychics who can enter minds and manipulate memories along with destroying their spirits, but they have to be careful because the power corrupts their own hearts. Description is actually pretty great so I hope the show doesnt suck.

Radiant S2 - Still gotta go back and finish S1, but it seemed like it was gonna be decent shounen stuff.

Sounds of Life S2 - I remember checking out the first episode and not caring about it.

GRANBLUE FANTASY S2 - Did anyone even watch this show? I dont think Ive ever seen anyone mention it.

Rise Up! Animal Road - The description only sounds like the first episode, but damn does it sound great with the MC suplexing a princess. I really hope the whole thing is good because its one of the shows Im most excited about.

Stars Align - An original anime thats a coming of age story about junior high boys tennis club on the verge of being shut down. It sure is common for clubs to be on the verge of shutting down in anime, but hey maybe this tennis anime will be decent? Ive been enjoying most sports anime these days.

Fairy Gone S2 - I might get back to S1, but I dunno. It didnt seem like a strong show.

Ascendence of a Bookworm - Aka Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen another super long title. Seriously what the fuck these long titles never fail to surprise me since they seem to keep getting longer. Anyways a librarian girl gets reincarnated as a soldiers daughter in a world without books so she decides to make them herself so she can be a librarian. Honestly a pretty lame goal, but at least different enough to be worth looking at I guess.

Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun - MCs parents sell him to demons, but it turns out to not be a terrible situation for the MC because the demon hes sold to is a nice grandpa figure to him. His grandpa also happens to be the Principal of the demon school. Surprisingly it doesnt say its a harem series or anything even though it could easily become one. Guess well see where it goes.

Val x Love - Ecchi trash that will probably be butchered in airing form and only watchable in Blu-rays. I mean its about an MC who has to make 9 Valkyrie girls horny so...yeah

Keishicho Tokumu-bu Tokushu Kyoaku-han Taisaku-Shitsu Dai-Nana-ka: Tokunana - Didnt see an English title for this long ass show. Some misfit police battle against a group committing crimes because theyre a crazy cult who worships dragons that no longer exist (until it turns out they still do probably). Sure why not.

After School Dice Club - Cute girls playing board games. Sounds like good times.

Kimetsu no yaiba is done go watch it swordz

Are You Lost?
-Not really my thing, I don't think the humor was kind of off and the fan service is like not quite where it's like I can watch it just for that. It's not awful but none of the girls really stand out in a way where they could take over the show.

Magical Senpai
-Pretty good. Senpai is great, good waifu potential. It's never that funny, but it's presented in a way that is very enjoyable. The show kind of reminds me of Dagashi Kashi except at being good and knowledgable at what the show is about the main character is an idiot.

Astra Lost in Space
-I thought this was great. They manage to develop a large cast of misfits and incorporate them into a story that is both interesting and not too out there. The show never takes you too far outside the realm of things that you feel could happen in the world they established. I found several of the characters pretty interesting to follow, even if some of their motivations (like the reporter dude) are used a little too much.

Dumbbell
-This is another good show that is kind of a step away from being great. I just think some parts of it just kind of lull a little bit too long, and I don't even mean the exercise tutorials. The latter episodes were in general better imo because things just got a bit more insane overall. It just goes from parts where I'm thinking the show is awesome to parts where I'm not sure I care that much. Hibiki is great.

UchiMusume
-I like this show, it's cute albeit kind of onenote a lot of the time. I don't know I think just as far as consistency goes it's always good and doesn't really stray that far from that. If you like it at the start you'll like it all the way through.

O Maidens in Your Savage Season (Minor Spoilers)
-I could say quite a bit about this, but it's like man all the characters in this show are either awful or just fucking dumb. Hongou is like the only character who, while not always the brightest, at least understood her shortcomings and tried to (in like probably among the dumbest ways possible) to do something about it. While everyone else kind of just moped around and felt sorry about themselves or just refused to do what solved the problem at the end anyways, fucking talk to each other. Some of the stuff I can understand, like glasses having trouble in her first relationship. But other things are just put in for unneeded drama. It's like they had to put every single possible plot point that could be stuffed into a show like this into the show. So things just kind of happen haphazardly and end pretty unsatisfactorily.

Takagi S2
-Imo, the only two characters that have a chance of having as much chemistry as Takagi and Nishikata are the mains from High Score Girl (where S2 is coming in the Fall). The show is pretty much the same form the first season, although I do think the situations are overall better. The ending is so good.

Re:Stage Dream Days
-I want to say that this show is so far down VRVs list or whatever that it doesn't pop up until i type in at least Re:S. This is an idol show and it's... weird. I don't know it's kind of like the cast acts a lot more like a Saturday afternoon cartoon cast than anything. It's kind they are really trying to focus on the moe side of the girls and they are idols too. The art style is great too, it's very cute. That said, the show is also not very interesting outside of the basic premise and presentation. I don't have a real sense of progression fo the group outside of major plot points. But it does seem like they kind of just check off boxes of things they need to get to.

Cop Craft
-This anime had a lot of potential. I feel like if this show had more money it would be a contender for aots. But I think the quality drop in animation and such is just too drastic to really look the other way. Because I really like the mains in this show, I think their growth and understanding of each other develops very nicely. I also think it mixes in a lot of good humor and more traditional cop show grit.

The Demon Girl Next Door
-I like this show, but not as much as I thought I would. I think that the aura of it kind of vanishes after a while. It doesn't really progress the characters or develop new situations that really kept me as interested as I wanted to be, because I really like Shamiko and Momo.

A Certain Scientific Accelerator
-I think this was pretty good. Accelerator still is kind of a dumb character, but I still like him. I don't think the action is as good as it could have been, like I think Railgun still has it there. It still has this like unfortunate thing where people don't know who the number 1 stronger esper is when they see him type deal. But you know.

MOMMMORPG
-If this show was the first and last arc I think it would be a decent anime. But the other parts are so bad.

DanMachi S2
I'm getting tired of typing. This was good. Uhh, really impressed with the overall progression in Bell (at least for now) as well as Miss Supporter. Also liked how they expanded the world up more and made challenges for the cast that were not soley based on their combat powers this time around too.

People who are more familiar with anime scheduling than me, any idea when Fruits Basket season would likely start?

Rifle Is Beautiful - Cute girls in a shooting club. Sounds fun enough.

Middle Schooler Disease Outburst Boy - Girl goes to new school and meets a bunch of chuuni boys. Well its a comedy so it might be amusing, but itd be better with chuu2 girls tbh

African Office Worker - Stars a goddamn lion and other animals working in Japan. Honestly Ive been hoping this will be good since I first heard about it.

Kandagawa Jet Girls - Senran Kagura guy is working on this project that is also getting a game. Expect lots of big boobs bouncing around with maybe a small chance it gets some real ecchi. As for what its about fuck if I know. I saw girls with guns riding jet skis for whatever reason.

Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle - Never experienced this series and an anime about the first 3 episodes of the game and then original story probably isnt the best way to either.

ACTORS: Songs Connection - Anichart doesnt really say much about this, but it looks like some show for chicks with a bunch of pretty boys so lmao

Shin Chuuka Ichiban! - Chinese cooking show. I dunno if Ill check it out or not, but man I can never pronounce most character names for Chinese stuff

Pokemon 2019 - Pokemon basically goes on forever so it never really needs to be added to the chart like its a new show. Also the new rival dude has one of the worst hairstyles of any anime dude Ive ever seen lmao

Zoids Wild Zero - Sequel to a Zoids show. Man I havent seen one of those in probably 15 years.

Kaijuu Step Wandabada - The characters are designed as though the popular Kaiju in the ULTRAMAN series have become little kids. The story is set in the little planet where the unique little Kaiju try new things, meet new friends and portray each of their little first steps. lol

Animal Road Ep1 - The premise is covered in like the first 5-10 minutes of the episode. Main character seems fairly decent though his love of animals is pretty extreme too. Was a mix of funny and weird and hopefully the rest wont have more of the weird scenes. Theres this one part where he sees wolfman and tackles him to the floor so he can pet him. Since the wolfman is basically a person, but a wolf it was like the MC was molesting him so that was pretty awkward. Like he had his head buried in his chest sniffing the wolfman and then after a bit you see the wolfman looking like a regular dog who just had its belly rubbed for a while. In another scene he almost seemed to be sniffing the ass of a Cerberus too..so yeah might be awkward for some viewers lol

So basically season of the furry is upon us

Cautious Hero Ep1 - This was actually quite good surprisingly. Its an isekai that also makes fun of isekai which is becoming more common, but its still amusing. The main girl aka Goddess Rista has amazing reaction faces/expressions and the hero Seiya is so cautious its beyond ridiculous. My favorite part is where he just unloads super attacks on a lv1 slime he killed with the first super attack just in case it was still alive

I did not expect to like this more than Animal Road pre-season, but consider me impressed for now.

Seishun Buta Yarou/Bunny Girl Senpai movie was incredible, definitely worth watching, and the highlight of the series for me so far.

My heart hurts so much from watching it. Such a beautiful exploration of the concept of sacrificing one's self for others.

And then that fucking ending. Holy fucking shit. I think this is lowkey just one of my favorite movies.

So fucking good, holy fucking shit.

Now the LN's just need to be translated quickly because it'll be a while before we get S2, tho maybe the movie will do well enough that they just keep adapting the LN's as movies instead.

The fan translations of the first 3 novels did def make certain aspects of the anime feel rushed, but the movie didn't have that at all, so I kinda just want more movies

Oh I guess this is the place to talk about Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl

As someone who had no idea it was based on a light novel or an existing anime, it was a little hard to follow in the beginning with how many characters they dumped on you with little to no explanation. I guess that makes sense if they're assuming you already watched Rascal Does not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai or read the light novels. However that's only a small gripe that plagued the beginning of the film.

Oh my gosh the immense feels throughout though! I'm gonna spoiler tag this for anyone who wants to be completely caught off guard even though I'm not actually gonna SAY anything, but.... there was one moment in the movie that legitimately floored me. My mind couldn't even process what had just happened for a solid minute because it was so unexpected. I felt shock, amusement, bemusement, adoration, melancholy, anxiety, and all to significant degrees in just one hour and twenty-seven minutes, which is amazing considering this WAS my introduction to all of these characters.

For obvious reasons this didn't feel as complete a film as something like Your Name, but in a way it was even better at playing with (read: torturing) your emotions. If you ask me which anime movie I prefer I'd pick the latter without a doubt, but this was still surprisingly very good. The anime is now on my radar. Oh, and since I work at the theater where I saw RDNDOADG I'm pretty sure I picked up a poster for it about 2 and a half weeks ago if anyone wants to see it. If you ask nicely I might consider giving it away (you just gotta pay shipping oc). I've got a poster for whatever One Piece related thing is debuting as well, but someone has first dibs on that already.

Dice Club Ep1 - Was decent enough I suppose.

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl was indeed pretty great. I rewatched the anime season over the last two days in preparation for the movie, and I'd say the movie was similar in quality, a solid 9/10.

Regarding what prof spoiler-tagged That really cleared up the ending for me, so thank you. I hadn't made the connection about Mai's movie helping Shoko, and my confusion over why she was okay for some reason was my only real problem. That makes a lot of sense and understanding it makes the movie a whole lot better.

Anyway, I appreciated how the plot kept twisting. I put together the clues about Sakuta's heart early on and worried that would be some big reveal at the end but oh no, they get that one out of the way a few minutes later and then it start getting into some great and unexpected developments!

So yeah, good movie. I hope there's more Rascal anime content in the future!
