I scrolled a bit to find it. Dark Crystal is front and center....for some reason. Have never expressed interest in that. Currently ahead of it is Cannon Buster which I actually did hear about the release of when it came out, to give them credit, Twelve Forever which is on my list to be fair, and...the Dave Chappelle crap, so thanks for that Netflix.

I mean I straight up got push notifications for Dark Crystal and something called The I-Land, which I have never even heard of.

With the news that Disney+ is going to have weekly episode releases for it's series, I am legitimately hoping they scoop up a bunch of anime somehow....unless we get the dark future of a delayed release that is ALSO weekly.

@GenesisSaga are you actually watching Carole & Tuesday? Just thought I'd ask in a more appropriate topic.

Hearing great things about Granbelm, but I am not up to date.

When pulling up the Amazon Fire Netflix app after getting home just now, rather than Carole & Tuesday being more prominent than on mobile like I expected, it's...simply not here at all. Not in the because you watch section for any anime, not in Trending, not in Available Now, not in Popular, not in New Releases.

I'm sure it's just broken somehow...but if it's not showing its not showing, doesn't really matter why.

No tweets about it from Netflix or NX. Based on the absurd amount of Dark Crystal push on both if these accounts, and on Netflix itself, I would hazard a guess that there is some marketing deal to put all eyes on that, and Carole & Tuesday is getting shafted as a direct result.

Right before posting this I did find it in the originals section, but it's not on the first page, you have to scroll.

Auto skipping the intro without even asking for a show about music.

Nobidy told me there a shitty Chinese knockoff of Thunderbolt Fantasy on Netflix.

I wish... I'm too broke to afford more than one streaming service right now so I'll have to wait until it debuts on Netflix this fall. A while ago I did start binging some of the performances though, after Galactic Mermaid went viral and piqued my curiosity.

Keep in mind that it's only halfway through on Netflix. The rest of it will probably come in like a month or so.

I've been watching it fansubbed as well and don't really know how the dub is like. So I guess just go with your preference.

I will say that the songs are left intact as they originally were since there's no point in dubbing over songs that are already in English.

More like two and a half months based on how long it took them to get out the first half. Took two months after the first 12 episodes finished, and we have 3 more weeks before the second half finishes.

I realize now that Yaiba is going to end on a cliffhanger rather than a bang based on the next episode's content and the current pacing.

Dissapointing.

Instead of any of those other shows I mentioned yesterday, I started watching O Maidens because Mari Okada.

This is not exactly what I was expecting, but I am a fan so far I think. Very nice thematic consistency, and the character dynamic is pretty engaging as well. Thus far the show has avoided pushing far into melodrama for melodrama's sake like Mari Okada things do sometimes, though on the other hand there's still like 10 episodes or something left for that to happen.

Also gotta say those 2 teachers are a big yikes if ever I've seen one.

Never dreamed they wouldn't make it there.

About halfway through episode 10 of Carole & Tuesday...I think I figured out a twist here and it's gonna be wild if I'm right.

So far this is definitely on route to be my favorite Watanabe work, but with just over half left and...probably a 6 month wait to finish it, who knows.

At the very least, the set of episodes ended in a fairly reasonable break point, of which can't usually be said by split Netflix releases. I think my theory night be bunk, but....not throwing it our yet.

I'm in a trap now where I don't want to wait, but now I'm used to the dub.

Can I have a version of O Maidens in which the short black-haired girl is no longer a character? Please and thank you.

I'm pretty behind, but she's easily my favorite character so far...

As usual I'll be running AOTY this year, but as soon as it's over I'll also be doing Anime of the Decade.

Main change for AOTY besides removing unpopular categories, is to create a Best Recurring character award to go along the usual best Male/Female character.

I intend to start noms for AOTY in very late december, and to start AOTD in mid January.

I haven't yet decided on how some series will count.
Ex: All Attack on Titan seasons will be grouped together, but Jojo seasons tend to vary wildly, Fate/Zero & Fate UBW I may not count together. Lots of stuff will need to be decided case by case.

Only rule I have in mind so far is that the anime must have started after 01/01/2010, so that'll discount some long running shows. This also discounts shows with a 2nd season this decade, but a first season the previous decade. But I'm not sure what's affected on that front.

Unlike AOTY, because over the course of 10 years there's usually enough time for the BDs to get released, a film category will be added.

That's a good point.

Monogatari is split pretty weirdly too.

The idea is to block long running shonens like One Piece which started waaay too early.
But there's plenty of time to make adjustments.

FMA brotherhood looks to be about half and half so I'd discount it from competing.

One thing that I can see being a headache is opening/ending.

I feel like OP/ED should be distinct from the actual anime itself. A One Piece OP from 2014 or something should be eligible, right?

I guess Future Gospel is the only eligible KnK content, if it's eligable at all.

Why not just allow OP/EDs that debuted this decade regardless of whether the series is eligible for other categories? (Or I am misunderstanding and the "headache" is checking release dates for questionable cases?)

Speaking of AotD, I've been working on a top 100 for the decade for a while now and the biggest problem is that I know there are shows I like but can't really tell you anything about them besides the basic premise and maybe a couple of scenes. Another is that I've seen a lot of anime so even cutting things from a top 100 is difficult for me. I basically just went through and added them as they aired in a ranking comparing them to each other and by the time I got to 2015 or so it was a pretty miserable experience.

I thought I was the only one having problems remembering stuff I watched

I don't remember what happened in Chuunibyou S1 for example >_>

all four seasons of Fate Ilya are a blur to me as well

Yona of the Dawn is a big example. I know I loved the show, but at this point I couldn't tell you anything about it beyond the most bare-bones summary possible.

Yona of the Dawn

Yona is betrayed in a military coup to overthrow her father.
Childhood friend and Captain of the guard saves her.
Her father might not have been that great of a guy.
She has to find these like Dragon Spirits or whatever that are represented by hot anime guys.
She cuts her hair at one point and becomes cool.
The show ends like maybe 1/4th through what I'd call a complete story.

That's what I remember.

Yona of the Dawn AKA that show I swore was the same as Snow White with Red Hair in my head.

If you can't remember anything about a show, shouldn't you just assume it's because the show wasn't very good? I can't imagine thinking a show is great when it left no impression on you at all.

I forget a lot about shows I love too. Like watching the latest Ace season it sometimes flashes back to stuff and I dont really remember some of the scenes when it does.

Since today is Tuesday it feels relevant to say that Are You Lost is by far the better of the two short comedies this season

Magical Senpai started pretty strong but it has only been moderately above average since then.

What in the WORLD is this last Astra episode going to be?

Taking everything I have to not go read the ending in the manga.
