Futaba isn't bad, but certainly not as big a fan of her as pretty much anyone else in P5's cast. Her getting top spot of the P5 characters seems wrong to me.

I like a couple of the P5 characters, but not more than the best P3 or P4 characters. Makotos my favorite of P5 and shed still probably be below most of the 3 and 4 cast. Feels weird having been so immensely hyped for P5 many years ago after finishing P4 and then I didnt really enjoy 5 too much. Not even excited about Royal either even though it seems to be fixing one of the major issues 5 had aka nothing for its cast to do that wasnt work

Ehhhhhhh. Objectively P4 was the much better game and had a better cast, but I honestly prefer P3 to it, character-wise. ...Other than the original Moon Arcana social link. And P5, of course, but P5 was better designed gameplay-wise, if not always dungeon-wise. See that fricking airlock puzzle and the rat thing, although I liked that more than most people.

Mana - A longstanding and timeless hero of the top ten, noble nine, elite eight, etc. Link in all his incarnations never fails to impress as the sword and shield avatar of the player.

Shonen - He come to town.

Alright, for real. Link might not be the most fleshed out character but when a game does try to develop him a little it's generally done well enough. That's not what makes him so great in my eyes, though.

More than anything, Link is the embodiment of what you would think of as a hero. He's brave, selfless, and always willing to leave his home to go help people and save the world. And I do mean 'always'.

Because no matter what kind of evil threatens the world, and no matter how long it might take, Link will appear to defeat it. He's timeless in every sense of the word, and that's turned him into more than just another character on a screen. He's iconic. He's a legend. He's the hero. And that's why I consider him one of the greatest characters in gaming, and likely always will. Because Link always comes back, and Link Always Wins.

Interesting. My opinion didnt change on any of them for Golden. Still loved and disliked the same characters, but the extra scenes added a lot of good times. I should replay it again one day, but part of me still hopes it will get a console port

Snake - The trajectory arc of Leon is one of the more interesting examples of character development in the RE series. While many characters remain pretty static through different entries, Leon's progression can easily be traced from RE2 all the way to now with RE6 and RE: Vendetta. Starting off as the idealistic rookie cop, his biohazard experiences hardens him quickly, evolving his sense of justice and duty as seen in Darkside Chronicles, while working alongside Jack Krauser, maybe the closest he has to a best friend and mentor. Krauser's injuries sustained during Operation: Javier would again color Leon's personality. Though in RE4 we see a lighter side to Leon, the reappearance of figures from his past clearly give him a lot of inner trouble. First, there's Krauser, now turned against Leon and working with Wesker, causing Leon to re-examine all that he knew when it came to his former friend. Then of course, there's Ada, a flirty frenemy that simultaneously helps and hinders Leon's progress. This will-they, won't-they relationship is very unique to the series, and every scene with Leon and Ada together is always a lot of fun. After RE4, Leon returns to his more serious personality with Degeneration, Damnation, and RE6, but the return of Claire and Ada still opens him up to more light-hearted moments. The full-extent of his PTSD can clearly be seen in Vendetta, which sees him become an alcoholic in the face of all the past trauma he has experienced over the years. This type of character trait is rarely touched upon in the RE series, only really being seen elsewhere with Chris' character. Leon expertly blends badass moments while still taking the biohazard threats seriously, making for one of the best characters in the RE series.

Well the 20-16 update went well. I only lost The Boss, so before the top 15 went up I had 8/15 (I also forgot Trainer Blue in my previous update).

Then 15-11 massacred me, taking out the rest my top 3, though I suppose an update like that had to come eventually. Garrus and The Boss both did way better than I thought they would.
