Stars Align beated. Whelp, that sure wasn't an ending! The creator says he wants to finish the story, but I'm skeptical that he'll be able to make it happen. Watching this was probably a mistake, considering.

Other than that, it was mostly pretty good? I liked the character interactions quite a bit, and the way they worked together as a team was neat. Maki's dad was never interesting, but the other characters' family dramas were rather more compelling. My favorite part of the show was all the stuff with them getting good as a team, I think. Maki leading the team to competence was great. Ended up giving it a 7.

Also finished After School Dice Club, a bad show. As I said before, it's bad because most of the board games are so boring. Some of the characters (namely Miki and Aya) are lame too. Miki's whole "I don't know how to have fun" thing is super dumb and makes no sense, even within the context of the show. Her drama thing in the last episode is also bad. The interesting part of the show is Midori's quest to make a board game. I like that a bunch of the show treats her like the main character, since she's WAY more compelling than Miki is. Emilia was fun too. Give me the Midori and Emilia adventures any day.

Haikyuu S4 - hell yeah finally more volleyball boys. I dont think I ever watched any of the OVAs I think it has, but I probably should huh? Anyways excited its coming back.

Railgun S3 - fuck yes the Misaka show is back. If Haikyuu wasnt also this season Id say AotS for sure.

Magia Record - Boy am I glad Shaft isnt doing anything worthwhile :(

pet - This was on a list before, but I guess it never came out yet and Im not doing another write-up.

Plunderer - If your count reaches 0 (and it can be a count of anything apparently) you get sent into the abyss. Its an action series so Ill probably at least check it out or so I claim.

Somali to Mori no Kamisama - I feel like I did this one before too, but whatever. Maybe it all just seems the same to me now. Humans are almost extinct and a human girl meets a golem and they travel together like father & daughter. Please dont let the golem want to fuck her. Japan has a bad problem with that when making these kinds of stories.

In/Spectre - The picture of this gives me Index/Railgun vibes and it sounds interesting so heres hoping its good.

Nekopara - man this series took off huh. It has gotten a couple games I think and an anime now. Is it just cute cat girls doing cute things, but with hentai that will not be in the anime version?

Darwins Game - dude enters the world of a game app where there are life and death stakes. Never seen that before right.

Dorohedoro - This actually sounds interesting, but watch it be Amazond or something. Definitely gotta check out a series where a dude has a reptile head and chomps people.

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun - Uh I dont really know what to expect of this. Im slightly familiar with Hanako-san, but thats about it. Looks like its a comedy so I usually give those a shot.

Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It - Two scientists love each other and try to solve the theory of love through science in this comedy that is Amazond.

Infinite Dendrogram - VR MMO anime. It took the MC 2 years to buy the game so it must have cost a fortune. Will probably fill the generic fantasy game void SAO leaves until it comes back for people.

ID: Invaded - another virtual world anime. This one is at least a mystery with a detective trying to solve a murder, but will it be good enough to be worthwhile? Well see.

Ishuzoku Reviewers - Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder! From elves to succubi to cyclopes and more, the Yoruno Gloss reviewers are here to rate the red-light delights of all manner of monster girls...The only thing is, they can never agree on which species are the hottest! This is some good sounding shit right here man. I cant believe it has taken this long for which fantasy race/monster girl is the hottest? the anime.

Koisuru Asteroid - Cute girls doing astronomy and geology club stuff. It almost sounded like it had a boy to ruin it, but nope.

I Hate Getting Hurt, so I Put All My Skill Points Into Defense - or something like that is the title. Its yet another anime set in a virtual world this season, but at least the heroine is cute even if she also kinda looks like she stole Mashs style.

Orphen Remake - I dont know anything about this series, but it sounds decent enough based on the description. Magic, dragons, swords, whats not to like.

Kuutei Dragons - and now heres a series where people fly around on airships so they can hunt and eat dragons.

BanG Dream S3 - Will there ever be a season without an idol anime before I die? Probably not

Smile Down the Runway - Main girl wants to be a fashion model, but everyone says shes too short. She wont give up though even though she tells a male classmate who wants to be a fashion designer that its impossible for him. Wow youd think she would show some sympathy for someone else who has a dream related to hers...

Ascendance of a Bookworm completed. Oh hey finally a Fall show that's just plain great! I liked pretty much everything about this (other than its slightly slow pacing - they probably could've fit the show into 13 episodes with any difficulty). Definitely the best isekai show I've watched in quite a while. It reminds me that having an OP protagonist is just stupid. Her power is her knowledge, and that's more than enough. On top of that, she has a terrible weakness, which makes her even more compelling. It's pretty neat to have a series where the protagonist can't even walk down the stairs without collapsing at first (and she doesn't even get particularly fit by the end of it!). The author understands that it's weakness that makes characters compelling most of the time.

The whole cast is pretty sweet. Myne is, of course, a great protagonist, and the rest fit in very well. Her whole family feels fairly real, and the adult characters are fun too, along with Lutz. The developments are basically constantly interesting. You definitely get the feeling of the MC struggling to make her way in thet world. Every triumph is delightful, and every failure is heartbreaking. Definitely looking forward to S2 here.

These are decent results, it could certainly be worse! I even thing some of these are actually correct, and I think the real winner is in the runners up list at the very least for each category.

Still can't get over Demon Slayer as best looking. The fire slash going viral on Twitter really messed up that result. When Ninja and Pewdiepie are tweeting about it, you've kind of killed the competitiom results.

There's a real fear that Demon Slayer is gonna pull a HeroAca at the anime awards this year and everyone is gonna be shitting on it for the next few months.

I was pretty uninterested in it from the get go (far too low energy), but there has been enough praise that I will likely get back to it.

Orphen is out soon, and this is the first time a previous decade series very close to my heart has gotten a rebooted adaptation that I expect to be disappointed by. Those PVs are bad. Fingers crossed, hopefully my low expectations are unwarented.

First episode of the Re:Zero director's cut is out on Crunchy. The first episode was a twoefer to begin with, so this will likely feel the same. No word yet on if there are any differences. Just rewatched the whole series 3 months ago, so hopefully I'll catch anything they add!

I have completed watching the first episode of this decade's first new anime release, Re:Zero.

I feel like they took another pass at this with the after effects, but maybe I'm imagining things.

The "episode" transition and overlaying credits roll in the middle has been removed. It's totally seemles between episodes 1 and 2 now. Considering just how much Re:Zero ended episodes with overlaying credits, a whole bunch of scenes that had no clean versions will be showing up with them now in this release which is super neat.

They started the Styx Helix ED lead in early with the piano part it starts with in the full version. Worked for the scene and was cool to hear, I hope they do that for all the ED lead ins moving forward.

Didn't notice anything actually new, but I'll see if there's any discussions out there for it to see if I missed anything. The runtime definitely seems like it's a couple minutes longer than it was, but I don't know those hard numbers off the top of my head. Most of the originally cut down content would be around the middle and later into the show anyways.

Oh, and most importantly, RE:ZERO IS STILL REAL FUCKIN' GOOD, YA'LL.

Beastars beated. Solid show. Apparently I had no idea what it was about (I thought it was going to be about police or something maybe?), but I wasn't really excited by the high school setting. Legosi was an intriguing protagonist, and Haru was pretty fun too. Wasn't really interested in the rest of the cast though. Louis was super boring, so the episodes without him were better. Kinda disappointed they went with a girl getting kidnapped arc for the end, since that felt a lot more generic and cliched than most of the show, but the stuff after that was more interesting. The world the author created was neat in a few ways, but it felt a little half-baked. Not sure how interested I am in a second season, but I can see it being better (especially if there's less Louis).

One thing I really wish is that the show did more interlude type things with random characters. Those are great for worldbuilding and make the world feel more real. The cold open with Legom was one of my favorite parts of the show.

Ah, makes sense that that's where they ended it. Definitely has a lot going on in the future, but would not say it's something you would necessarily start liking way more if you weren't a huge fan to begin with. Since you already think it's solid, it's only going to go up from here.

What an absolute delight. This was always on my radar, but just barely. The simplest way I can put it is that the presentation and world building here is just so rich. There's one short scene of exposition in the middle, but it's mostly environmental, but what an environment. The designs of the monstrous yet completely civilized society is something else, and people should check it out at the very least for the aesthetic alone, which it pulls off even with what seems to be a fairly standard production. A very strong start to the season.

As always, there's pretty much a 50/50 chance I'll totally love one of their series or be bored to tears by it. This one seems like a winner. Suzu is great, and the moe animation is on point. Still, after Tada I will forever be caution of a DK series.

Looks like....there's a one MONTH delay on the Darwin's Game subs? I want exactly chomping at the bit for it, but so strange.

Asteroid was okay. Didn't think there was anything outstanding about it, but it was competent at least.
