Finally started Re:Zero with the Director's Cut showing. Figured I could just keep up with it weekly this way.

Looks like it's essentially the BD version of it.

So far so good. Outside of a certain spoiler, I don't know much about it.

Considering the two fall anime I've been watching are literally Kandagawa Jet Girls and Azur Lane, I'm due for something that's actually considered to be good.

It's a 4th (and a half??) watchthrough myself, though the first time in a while I've watched in Japanese. Reminded just how good a job the VAs do.

Does Lemillion get his powers back and the end of this arc? Assuming not, how seriously if at all does the story consider the possibility of him getting them back at some later point in time?

If you really want the answer;

He does not get his powers back. Him potentially getting them back one day has been brought up and discussed, but there is no indication that it will actually happen. He's still a fairly active character in the series.

I already knew the answer to the first question because I was already spoiled, to be fair. I just didn't want to unintentionally spoil anyone else who was following the anime. I was only really asking about the second question.

Anyways, so is that like they only mention the possibility once and then forget about it, or has it been a recurring plot thread that's brought up multiple times?

I guess if he's still an important character it's not such a big deal either way. Mirio and Overhaul are two of my favorite characters in the series and I don't want both of them to be gone after this arc. (I don't know what happens to Overhaul but him being beaten and then mostly left behind seems like the overwhelmingly likely possibility. Don't tell me if I'm wrong on this.)

It's not so much its forgotten about, he just hasn't been in the last few arcs because they have a different focus, many of which he has no place in. When he's there, it's an active question being asked.

That's all really interesting because the first thing that popped up for me the first time I googled him was Lemillion Death so I assumed he bit it this arc, but I guess that doesn't happen if he's still around.

Madoka 2 watched. Was a little worried at first but it came together. Mainly the visuals seems a little stilted in the first half by Madoka standards, but that seems possibly intentional considering the second half. I cannot BELEIVE this isn't Yuki Kajura on the OST, it's basically indistinguishable from their work.

Also watched AI: The Somnium Files....I mean ID: Invaded. Or perhaps not, because this is just The Somnium Files. Seems pretty cool, ED is rockin', I'm always gonna give EI Aoki a shot.

Orphen is...yeah, can't recommend this at all. It's worse in basically every way to the original. It's not terrible or anything, but it feels lazy and dated. It feels like a 90's show but without any of the nostalgia it needs to stand out now.

edit: I guess 26 episodes is not a small time, but when I see Dressrosa has 130 episodes I'm expecting Wano to really blow it out of the water.

Friendship ended with Chihaya/Taichi. Chihaya/Suo is my new best friend.

(Ok not really but they are pretty hilarious together)

Still hoping Harada-sensei wins the match but it seems unlikely thematically after they went through the trouble of doing the thing where Arata is emulating his grandfather. Match is pretty cool either way though.

Trying to get back to where I was at the beginning half of 2019 with picking up some shows, watched Eizouken

It's funny seeing people say they're dropping it because the girls aren't attractive enough which obviously is already just creepy but also those dragonfly scenes. And it's just a cool style in general. And tall girl looks like she could fit right into Gorrilaz which is awesome

I guess Drifting Dragons is the show that's in jail this season. Wasn't exactly chomping at the bit for a new Polygon Pictures joint, but a shame for anyone who was interested.

Oh I watched Somali. Fun world and colors, the whole "emotionless golem taking care of small human girl" is sort of tropey but it's not bad, it works decently enough to explore the world which is what I'm most interested in. I'm sure it'll pull on some heartstrings later on.

Watched Null Peta. Whoops. Thought this might be some cute slice of life, and I guess it maybe could've been if not for all the lame humor. The parts that tried to be emotional were nice, but the jokes were mostly real bad, especially the food jokes. Delete the fried rice and the show would probably be solid I guess.
