Politics are invading all of my hobbies.

I really don't care if a singer, author, athlete, recently-retired-in-30's person didn't grow up on foodstamps. It doesn't make their accomplishments any lesser.

Go to a music subreddit, rich people hate.
Go to a general book subreddit, rich people hate.
Go to a subreddit about a sport, some rich people hate.
Go to a subreddit about politics, mostly rich people hate.
Go to a subreddit about people retiring in their 30's with a million or two, rich people hating on each other.
Go to a subreddit about people retiring in their 30's with multi-millions...no rich people hate but I don't really fit in.
Get tired of reddit and come to Gamefaqs, some rich people hate but less so.

I mean saying you're poor because of rich people or that taylor swift is famous because of luck and her rich parents is basically the new 'I'm fat because that's how my genetics are'. I've even noticing some rich people hate in real life (though not as much as online).

I mean, knowing someone could solve such difficult problems with such incredible ease, and yet they choose not because they don't have to is understandably a bit frustrating for the people with the problems. I don't really have problems with normal rich people but the people that actually have enough money to make a serious positive difference, and just don't, frustrate me. I guess because the science is so close in so many areas it's upsetting they don't chip in and give it that final push.

Pretty much. Notre Dame burning really highlighted this: dozens of billionaires came out of the woodworks to throw enormous quantities of money at restoring it, money which they were easily able to spend on a whim. That kind of money could have done so much more good than restoring some old church (a magnificent piece of architecture, the loss of which was tragic, but nonetheless just an old church), at a similarly trivial personal cost, yet still the money accumulates in bank accounts instead of doing that good. It's only natural that people are going to resent people that could help but choose not to for basically no reason.

It has also been shown that many use philanthropy to avoid paying taxes, which would net a larger benefit than the charity used to avoid taxes. They only give the minimum amount to other tax dodging non-profit organizations to avoid taxes, while that non-profit doesn't help anyone.

The worst thing is if these corporations would only pay their employees more while the CEO took a slightly smaller paycheck, it would help much more people.

It's moronic, it's based on assuming everyone is a greedy, materialistic c*** when in reality it's a descriptor of how shitty materialistic c***s can't behave themselves and can't imagine people who aren't as awful as them.

They deserve it. Most are only rich because they keep others poor.

They're rich because their failings are redirected on to the shoulders of the many by a system that's not necessary in developed, peace-time society. They don't directly attack the poor, they just utilise what's available to them and governments are too lazy to rebalance the game to suit the stage we're at.

Politicians are the rot in the hull, the rich are the sea. When the rot decays the vessel then the rich will flood it and drown us all, but if the rot is treated and sealed, the sea lifts the vessel and supports the ground we sit on.

It's less a matter of laziness and more a matter of corporate lobbying making it personally beneficial for governments to not rebalance things. Toss in corporate propaganda convincing people to vote for governments that do nothing to fix the imbalance, and you've got a status quo that the corporate elite continue to enjoy.

They could reorganise it to funnel the same money they get from lobbyists directly to themselves, but they're lazy. It's easy to take bribes and listen to orders. Socialism is more stable than capitalism but that doesn't effect them; in times of crisis, the existing companies are more motivated to bribe to keep themselves afloat so politicians are always propped up one way or another. There's no system that is going to be any better for politicians so there's no incentive, they can stick with the devil they know.

No. I try to avoid supporting most big business as much as possible using the only thing they understand, money, they get none of mine. Sure, it's not 100%, but if more people would stop supporting big business by spending their money elsewhere, they will have to change. Unfortunately, most people are too brainwashed to stop buying McDonald's and Apple products.

Support local businesses, farms, manufacturers, vote in politicians without corporate connections, don't buy "made in China", etc, etc. You can have a peaceful revolt through such means.

The fuck kind of revolt is willingly buying shittier/more expensive products? That does stop the rich getting richer, you're just changing the rules and they have plenty of resources to outdo the competition. McDonalds could disappear today but the owner would just be changing industry. You don't have any effect on wealth inequality, but you do make yourself poorer/worse off.
