using a second jump early just to reverse edgeguard with tornado is basically just hoping the other player screws up by not teching off the stage or failing to beat the move outright, which isn't too difficult to do since tornado gives the enemy plenty of time to prepare

you might as well keep doing it if it keeps getting you kills, especially since falcon isn't exactly a good edgeguarder

The way he gets me with it most times I can't tech the stage. It's like if I'm edgeguarding on the left side off stage and miss, he can use tornado as he recovers and hit me further off stage. I already know it's because I edgeguard too aggressively most times, I should be trying to 2 frame with stomp, go for uptilt spikes, and ledge trap in many of the situations I decide to jump off and edgeguard. Honestly edgeguarding is just more fun

yeah, a kinda annoying thing about ultimate is how ledgetrapping is probably just better for a majority of characters due to how much better recoveries are and how harshly you can be punished for edgeguarding
there are just too many risks to edgeguarding to the point that it's not worth it against a lot of characters and as several several characters (fox has an awful edgeguard game but great ledgetraps, for example). even characters that are notoriously bad offstage (luigi, dr mario, incineroar) can be annoying to edgeguard as certain characters while completely free for others, and with lag it's just that much scarier

game & watch can get a ton of free kills by just abusing up b invincibility to stagespike edgeguarders while being one of the few characters that can go super duper deep with a great disjointed backair for edgeguards and also has bacon for extremely safe ledgetrapping that can net extreme percents for no good reason

Whelp, working from home for the next 2 weeks and all gyms are closed, so now I'll have a lot of time to play smash haha

I really hate how kickflip is just a free ticket out of disadvantage. What does it have like 2 frames of vulnerability on start up and another 2 as the move ends or something? And the trajectory is hard to pinpoint while fighting, the lack of microspacing in this game makes it so hard to punish

i think only like frame 1 is vulnerable and the rest are invincible. it's easily zss' best tool and exactly why she's one of the best

i mean, that's exactly my point. void doesnt play zss, and he calls her the best, or second best in the game, so i dont take his opinion on that very seriously. i dont disagree with what you're saying regarding the weaknesses point, but I still completely disagree that she is the best in the game. top 10 for sure tho

I almost completely agree with his, short of some strange choices like Hero and Lucas being high tier, but i am but a mere casual. I think to your question about the Japan meta, Nairo has always commented that the Japan meta is a lot more reserved, so when characters like Fox and ZSS come in, the hyper offense nature just flips the whole playbook. Either way, we're all just casuals, and playing on wifi, so like bitching about tier lists doesnt do a whole lot of good haha
