Anyone else feel like Pure Paladin Liadrin is kinda awkward? I usually have so many cards in my hand I can't even take advantage of Liadrin. And you cast the cheap libram so much there's a chance she just fills your hand with more of those which is okay I guess but not really ideal most of the time. I'm thinking about trying a version where you only run the libram that heals you for 8 and summons 8/8.

Taunt Warrior vs No Minion Mage is a f***ing nightmare matchup. Game had to take half an hour and I don't think anything happened for the first 20 minutes. Lord help me I won so it wasn't a total waste but that's not something I'm in a hurry to see again.

Yeah...I played some Priest decks earlier today in the hopes of countering demon hunter. And like...if I queued into demon hunter I was happy enough, but if I queued into another priest I was like "oh god, I'm going to be stuck here till fatigue aren't I?"

Hand space is an issue for sure. I was running Bronze Explorer for a bit (the 2/3 lifesteal) but decided this was bad because I didn't want to add dragons to my hand cause I needed to dump stuff from my hand to get it down to 5.

That said, I'm pretty happy to fill my hand with 2 mana librams. If you start the turn with any minions that can attack, or have taunt minions you can libram up, this is often pretty great.

In order to get the 9 mana Libram off of Liadrin, you have to use it to heal a minion, and you usually want to heal your face with it, so most of the time I just heal my face and accept that I'm not getting a Libram of Nope off of Liadrin.

So like...if you're not running the 2 mana Libram, I think I would straight up cut Liadrin. In what matchup are you going to point two Libram of Nopes at your own minions?

I thought that for a while too but the card actually says "Add a copy of each spell cast on friendly characters". I played Liadrin and I was very confused when I got 2 of the 9 mana librams because I used them on my face.

I was considering dropping most of the buffs completely and just putting 2 flash heals or something instead actually. Infinite healing Paladin?

I'm amused that high legend streams seem to have turned into Exotic Mountseller druid mirrors.

I remember when that card was spoiled that I expected it to be great, and then it did nothing. Turns out all it needed was some 0 mana spells that don't cost 0 until you can play Mountseller.

Man, I actually preferred day 1 with DH because you could play control or something like Big Druid and climb on the ladder.

Now It's all Galakrond Warlock and Big Druid mirrors, 20 minute games that end up in a coin flip of who drew better late game.

It was fun while it lasted, I just needed something to hold me off until Remake tonight, anyway.

I'm stuck right over that hump at Diamond 10. Can't get a streak going and can't find an Aggro opponent to save my life.

Although I'm pretty sure matchups are MMR based and not ranking based up to a certain rank.

Gwent just brought out a battle pass style system which is pretty cool! There's also like a dozen viable decks right now and because it's not a coin flip game you can win with anything given a good strategy.

Would Hearthstone be better with some sort of MMR system that also factored in number of turns or something? I think something that always made me upset in the past was spending 30 minutes in a game to get 1 win and then losing on turn 5 the next game and feeling like it was all pointless.

If an aggro deck and a control deck have the same winrate on ladder then most people are going to play aggro just because it's faster to climb. I think that's part of why we always see so much aggro

I just beat an Embiggen Druid (with 0 new cards, come on man there was an expansion fuckin' two days ago) where he got off 4 Embiggens by turn 5 with the help of his Archmage Vargoth. Highlander Priest has some ridiculous removal tools at their disposal. My Galakrond hit his 2/1 Vargoth out of three possible minions, and I never even drew Natalie or Soul Mirror. If I had drawn either of those, I probably could've ended the game a lot sooner.

I mean, that only works if you also lose more points for losing a long game. Otherwise control decks would just be guaranteed to climb even with a negative winrate.

And if you do lose 2 stars for losing a long game, you could still game the system by playing a grindy control deck that wins at fatigue, and conceding early if you don't think you're going to win the long game (matched against a combo deck). Also purposefully delaying your win for the extra star. But then people would also not want to lose the extra star, and would concede early against you too.

I don't know--I agree that there's an issue, but I can't actually think of any solutions that really make it better.

The one place that does incentivize control decks a little more is when they have the brawlsoleums, where you get more rewards the better your winrate.

I agree you should lose more points for long games but it doesn't need to be 1 to 1.

Win shprt games 50 points
Win long game 100 points
Lose short game 50 points
Lose long game 75 points.

Sure you could get people conceding early to save themselves 25 points but if they keep trying there's a greater incentive. The system is already gamed in favor of aggro decks, like I said if two decks have equal win rates then there's no point playing the deck that's going to take 30 minutes to win a match versus the one that's going to take 5. This wouldn't game the system in favor of control decks, it would just balance it out.

The legendary quest today is Play 20 Spells, I think I can knock that out in a single game. Just have to build a deck with 30 spells in it and away we go.

Ha I remember making a priest deck with no minions back during the old gods days. It was mainly a meme deck to see how much removal and board clear I could fit into a deck.

My games against Demon Hunter usually end with them 6 cards deep into fatigue while I still have 9 cards left.

It's essentially Mass Dispel with three damage on top instead of a draw. I hate charge in general though so yes I'd love for it to get nerfed.

I've only played a few games so far with it but I do finally have my first win streak since hitting Diamond. My one loss was an unlucky game against DH where I didn't draw any tokens through the first 6 turns, which is tough to do with a deck that has so many options.

So after that Taunt Warrior vs No Minion Mage debacle I decided to try ladder again, and this time I actually played against DH. Three times in a row, in fact! Observation: Trash rank DH players apparently don't run Skull? All three games went to fatigue and nary a skull was seen.

Also, I spent 1,600 dust crafting Armagedillo and never got to play him in a single game. May as well have played the version I was running without it yesterday and saved myself the dust, I'm below 30,000 again and I'm feeling naked.

Buckled down and crafted Zixor and made it to Diamond 4 with Highlander Hunter, its just a pretty strong curve deck and Im pretty surprised with how well I did vs Demon Hunter. I just kinda survive the early aggression and they dont have answers to my bigger drops that Im playing on curve

Also Brann into Zixor Prime into Dragonqueen into Nagrand Slam is so nuts its awesome

I think hunter beats demon hunter in general right now. I tried Dragon Hunter, and beat two legend demon hunters in a row. Rotnest Drake killing their 6/7 is usually game-ending.

And then I played against a highlander hunter who played Dragonmaw Poacher and Oozed my weapon, and understood why nobody is playing Dragon Hunter right now.

I think someone else said it in this topic but I would rather play 1000 Demon Hunter games than another game against rez Priest. That 2/6 kill a random enemy minion makes me want to pull my hair out.

I played a budget Rez Albatross Priest to try and curb some of the DHs, but ran into a Taunt Buff Warrior and the game went 40 minutes.

So I kind of agree now.

Priest is so boring to play against that, despite using Res Priest myself, I still concede everytime I see one because it's not worth my time.

It's fine when I queue into DH because one way or another they roll me or I run them out of resources real quick, even with Skull.

It's real bad when you run into another anti-DH deck though.

Also I'm 3-0 against DH with my janky board clear Bandersmosh Lurker Below Shaman (because I always seem to pull Shaman legendaries in a new expac) and I'm afraid to keep playing it because I want to keep that record pristine. It's a bad deck, real bad, that's managed to overperform.

I think rez priest would be slightly less offensive without albatross considering all of my decks are either highlander or pure decks. I built a spell mage deck and the first game was against a priest who shuffled like 10 albatross into my deck. I really hate that card
