Disco Elysium's PC-only, yeah. I could see it having decent strength if it had already gotten console releases, since it's a well-liked RPG, but it's not going to threaten KH3, and probably wouldn't even if it DID have console releases already.

I do feel better about switching to Portal 2 > KH3 now though!!

Finished book 4 of The Expanse! Debating whether I want to forge ahead of where the show is. I think the show would still be able to surprise me because it deviates so much from the books.

1 > 3 > 2 > 4 as a book ranking so far, by the way.

I mean, it should have been obvious they were going to expand the universe when they turned a 5 hour section in the original into its own game. I don't imagine they'll do anything significant with it so you can just ignore it.

Or you can just not play it because it won't be "faithful" enough for your liking. You'll always have the original.

This is always a useless statement. As long as It's a standard action rpg it'll be fun enough. But It's always disappointing to see incredible potential go to waste.

I want to see FF return to its glory days and I do not see it ever happening with this leadership.

The reception so far seems largely positive, but there will always be those who get mad because they changed stuff. The remake might not be for those people.

No, but I don't think Square approaches those two franchises the same way. I enjoy KH because it does things FF doesn't.

I think square is approaching them quite similarly actually! The writing ideas of FFXV were more unrelatable and convoluted than its been in the past. The abolition of turn based for KH like command menu action. Nomura given so much charge has even homogenized the art style to be more or less a grittier kh. I can't unsee it.

Like look at the ffviii remaster! I hate those designs! Squall looks like his dissidia incarnation instead of the Cool dude I grew up with.

I'm not sure anymore (and I specified mainline for a reason!). It definitely was for a good time after I first played it. Don't take the following ranking too seriously but off the top of my head:

FF Type-0 > FFXIII > FFXIII-2 > FFXIII-3 > FFX >= FFVIII > FFVI > FFVII > FFT >> FFIV >>>> FFTA >> FFIX

Type-0 is a pretty safe #1 I think. But the next 5 are all really close now to the point where I feel like I could pick any of them to be #2 at this point depending on the day. 6, 7, and Tactics pretty close too.

Whew, finally finished the dark world levels that I've unlocked in world 3 of Super Meat Boy, so I can finally move on to the next world!

I let the board sway me off picking Nioh here so I'm going to be very cross if I actually had this one right (though I can't complain much because the board also talked me off Destiny and that would have approached a Vincent/Kerrigan level disaster)

Looked at the Guru for the first time and I feel like there are some extremely questionable consensus choices this year. In particular FE: Awakening > Bloodborne and Persona 5 > Portal 2 seem like results that have absolutely no chance whatsoever to me. FE3H > GTAV seems very suspect to me also but I guess I wouldn't claim that GTA won't collapse with too much certainty.

(To be fair, the gurus were nearly split 50/50 on FE:A/Bloodborne, but I also think Bloodborne has very little chance of losing to RE2 and an outside shot at beating Mass Effect 2)

Persona 5 > Portal 2 feels like the right call unless you think Sonic 2 beats Persona 5 with no problem (and I don't) because I don't see any reason for Portal 2 to have grown in strength in the last 5 years, as well as the fact that Royal literally just dropped so the game is back in public consciousness

Awakening/Bloodborne felt like a tossup pre-contest because it's not like either of those games was all that impressive in 2015 and one of them is a Nintendo game

and picking GTAV to win the division is just asking for trouble; heck I only took it to the division finals and I might be asking for trouble! I just have a hard time feeling confident picking any game to win that division honestly
