Metal Gear Solid 3 still a top 5 game though so pretty good list overall.

I never played Super Mario Galaxy 2 but I really wasn't a fan of the first one.

Edit: I have tried Phoenix Wright before anyone asks, but I stopped after the first game. It wasn't bad (would probably rank around even with ff7 here), but I didn't have much motivation to play another one. Most of the game was solid, but the slow sections were really slow and the high points weren't good enough to make up for it.

To be fair I haven't played any Mass Effect game though, and the only Donkey Kong game I played was 64 which is probably not the same thing. (Also I quite liked DK64 to be honest)

the excuse is my backlog is already bigger than i'd like and throwing something on the pile that's going to lose to dark souls 3, baldur's gate 2, sekiro, utawaremono (still waiting on the first game but that's soon-ish), and then probably persona 5 royal, ffvii remake, ffxii too

F/GO: Camelot beated. After three days of waiting for the Command Seals I still managed to comically fail my preparation by forgetting to change Mystic Codes on the lineup slot that I was using for that battle specifically - just on my other usual ones like the lineup I take into Ember/Material Daily Quests - and the battle was actually going well enough in spite of that that I almost wondered if I could win without seals if I hadn't screwed up the Mystic Code... but decided down that path lie madness and I used the seals anyway. Plus side was I got to end the battle in the most fitting way possible with Airgetlam.

Did like a node-and-a-half of Babylonia before the 1/4 AP bonus ran out. Enkidu totally slipping dude is a villain. Walking us in the opposite direction is one thing but going into nihilistic rants unprompted is quite another! But my current routine is something like this:

1. Is this an Archer/Saber/Caster material day? If yes, spend all AP on that. If no, move to Step 2.
2. Is this an Ember Day for the above classes? If yes, spend all AP on that. If no, move to Step 3.
3. Leonidas just opened up a Rank Up quest, I should probably do that.
4. Babylonia

Something like that, at least. I need some orbs for the above classes to level some skills (argh I dumped most of my Caster orbs on Hans during Saber Wars or else Ana would have been set) but not too many for Saber/Archer. Just some Red ones before the limiting factor becomes Bones/Void Dust/Stakes which is a problem for another day. After that I need to level Saber Shiki from 80 to 90, Ana isn't even at first ascension. =(, and I decided to give Fujino some Grails so she can level again.

Yeah, I don't know the situation. A supervisor at the post office contacted me, so I haven't heard from her directly yet. They did just register a positive test in the county where she lives (we live in separate counties), so maybe she had recently come into contact with that person.

(Rhongomyniad 1 would have lost much quicker, for instance, if he simply landed on the ATK buff on Shiki for her NP because that was the attempt where I lost when she was at like 3000 HP. Other attempts the DEF buff would whiff on Saber Shiki who is the only one who actually needs it, etc.) There actually haven't been any 0 AP nodes thus far AFAIK!

and yes i am aware. the most painful decision i have made thus far was like two days ago when i chose to bring leonidas to final ascension at the cost of 18 bones... out of my 19 total. >_>

that was a partial list. i tried to limit it to games i am 99% sure would beat out Ace Attorney in my own thinking.

Though the overall point is well taken, my backlog has never been as bad as most peoples'. Sitting at about 10 or whatever is considered a massive abnormality for me.

For reals though, Soulsborne has become one of my favorite series and I very much want to move on to Dark Souls 3 (I think I'm closing in on the end of the Baldur's Gate 1 expansion), I also really want to play Sekiro for similar reasons but Baldur's Gate 2 will probably go between those. I've heard a lot of Utawarerumono hype from many quarters, perhaps most notably with some pretty heavy overlap from Trails fans, I forgot to mention it earlier but METAL GEAR CHAOS. P5 Royal is something I know I want to play. I've never played FFXII so Zodiac Age is something I want to get to. FFVII Remake is well... remake. If anything that massive install size might be the thing most hurting it lol. I think at this point Ghost of Tsushima will be out and that's had my eye for a while now but I'll have to see reviews/impressions.

...and god i feel like by the time all this is dealt with Cold Steel IV will either be out or close enough that I'll end up replaying CS3 in preparation.

I've been pretty effective at shrinking my backlog lately, mainly through the power of not buying games unless I plan to play them immediately. I've still got a fair few games on it, but it's nowhere near what it used to be (unless you count free PS+ games I haven't played yet, but those are kinda a separate category IMO).

Bones will pretty much permanently be one of the most painful mats. It's ridiculous how many Servants need them.

For Grails, a few things:

1. Just grail the Servants you like most. They don't make that big a difference.
2. Grailing lower rarity servants is more effective than grailing 5*s. After 90, they only get 2 levels per grail instead of 5 (also applies to lower rarity servants you've grailed to 90). 1*s actually get 10 levels from the first grail, so if you're a fan of one of them, that'll get you the most bang for your buck.

That said, most of the Servants I've grailed are 5*s, since most of my favs happen to be that rarity, haha. Haven't grailed any 1*s either.

I have mixed feelings about the way the Trails fanbase talks about Utawarerumono. I think it's true that they appeal to a similar niche within the gaming community, but I think any actual similarities between the two are a bit overblown. At the end of the day Utawarerumono feels a lot like a Fire Emblem game with a heavier emphasis on story and characters, and Fire Emblem isn't really a series I'd compare to Trails at all*. Though it is probably true that one could reasonably recommend all 3 of the above to gamers who are looking for RPG's with strong characters/story and have some kind of political aspect to them. Particularly though I often see Utawarerumono recommended as a series with comparable worldbuilding to Trails which I think is just untrue no matter how you look at it.

Utawarerumono still fantastic though so definitely play it.

*This is based on Path of Radiance which is the only FE game I've played.

Disco Elysium is closer to the Baba is Yous of the world, rather than the Shovel Knights and Stardew Valleys. KH3 might get embarrassed given it's opponent, but it's not going to lose (yet).
