My bracket has The Witness > Yakuza 0 and it is the one change I would have made if I noticed I left that pick there sooner. The Witness had a zeitgeist for a minute and really is a top-caliber game of the decade, but GameFAQs just ain't got that kind of time for a less popular Myst.

Less hype than Dyling Light, fewer votes than INSIDE.

But to your point, I took that pick because I had no expectations of Yakuza 0 getting votes because Majima got clocked by Master Chief:

Master Chief ain't THAT embarrassing though and I overreacted to that result. Now, Yakuza 0 also didn't look great in this poll:

However, landing between Nioh and RE7 ain't too bad either -- RE7 looked good for a 16-seed, Nioh won an upset here, and 2017 was a powerful year for games.

Yakuza 0's gonna win. Hopefully The Witness does exceptionally well considering its quality, but...I mean, it didn't matter for Jonathan Blow's other game we've seen.

Sonic Mania is the big winner in yesterday's matches, with a split of almost 4% between registered and anonymous users. I suspect the games that pray upon the 1990s nostalgia this site has would disproportionally affect registered users far more than anonymous users.

Super Meat Boy and Persona 5 have smaller splits of about 2% between registered and anonymous users, with AC: Black Flag being even smaller at about 1.5%.

This is arguably the weakest Matchup in the contest so far next to AC/Civ 5

Can't think of another pairing that could be 2 fodder games.

But Yakuza should win.

If you think thats high for a board vote % compared to the rest of the match...just wait until Cuphead/GTAV

Oh man thats gonna be one hell of a % difference between the two games peak %.

Even if GTAV wins which i think it might...its going to get absolutely destroyed by Cuphead in the first 5 mins.

I wouldn't take Civ 5 over yakuza.

Yakuza recently got an Xbox/PC release i think so it should be stronger. Its also the most respected Yakuza game. We'll see. You maybe right

Assassins Creed just has more higher play rate and recognition.

So looking at tomorrows matches we've got 3 pretty damn well received indie titles. one of them has 0 chance one of them has a small chance possibly if MGSV is antivoted and the other has a good chance but a toss up

Hotline Miami imo would beat a ton of these losers in this bracket so far. So would Rocket League.

DArk Souls probably gets 75% which is decent.

DBZ/Rockt league could be anything. Literally anything.

Witness Yakuza i'll go for Yakua with 60% or something like that

MGSV/Dead Cells is going to be very interesting.

I'm going for a 55-45 MGSV win.

Hotline Miami was possibly underseeded, but Dark Souls is gonna look excellent tomorrow anyway.

I don't have high hopes for Dead Cells -- I know we talked about indie Metroidvanias, but I think I'll judge MGS5 more cynically than DC positively if it's close.

Rocket League/Dragonball FighterZ is an excellent match, one of the best in the round. I'm excited to see what comes.

How did Hotline Miami get last seed, wasn't it a huge hit? The ost alone is probably more well known than the game itself and it got a sequel. I may be reaching but I feel like it's the reason synth+miami vice aesthetic became relevant again this decade.

This is the same guy who chose Destiny 1 over 2. I seriously SERIOUSLY doubt people nominated dEstiny 1 more than 2.

Also he chucked a ton of games out due to Franchise representations. So he must have gotten to a point where hes letting in dross like Dying light ahead of something like Samus Returns 3DS.

And don't tell me "lol remake"

I love P4 Golden to death. If that game got in Samus Returns should have absolutely gotten in. Don't tell me Dying Light and Baba is You got more nominations than the only Good Metroid game last decade.
