yeah i changed my mind after seeing this result. Also i heavily overestimated nomura fanboys. It looks like they arent a bunch of sheep afterall. Plus im using my heart over head most likely. But who cares. Portal 2 to take out the trash

KH3 has no business being in a 3rd round.

it very lucky to even be in this division. Maybe allen is a KH3 fan.

FFXV rightly fed into BOTWs quarter and rightly so

its not as bad as mass effects 2 pic against mgs3. That was the biggest crime ever

Didnt call anyone stupid for having kh3 over portal. Noone has any real readings on these games. Im oretty certain kh3 will have the higher % of brackets

I think this is more of a turd performance by KH3 than Portal. There's at least a chance that Tomb Raider has managed to get a little bit of strength with the fairly decent reception Rise of the Tome Raider got... I don't think I could even try to convince myself that GameFAQs cares about Disco Elysium at all.

Tomb Raider was also free to download for like a week on Steam a few weeks back. Probably didn't really do anything to the numbers here but i never expected it to be blown away anyway.

I think Tomb Raider is probably halfway decent because we've seen the reboot have a positive effect on Lara in recent contests.

Tomb Raider is easily the strongest low seed here, I wrote in my guest crew post that a doubling is what Portal needed to score to make me feel good about Portal's prospects and that's pretty much what happened. It's a 14 seed that actually has a strong name brand, Portal was never gonna stomp.

This performance is satisfactory for Portal 2 > KH3. It may get close to RDR2 but I don't think it'll happen, not off today anyway.

It doesn't matter if you love that part of the game. It isn't a visually appealing image.

You can barely see Shepard at all. If you didn't play ME2 or the Arrival DLC, that pic holds zero appeal.

Attributing an underperformance in a games contest to a picture sounds ridiculous, but then again this is a GameFAQs contest we're talking about.

Pictures absolutely do matter because some people like both games and don't have a strong preference (we're the weirdos for keeping organized lists of our favorites), or you have people who haven't played either game and something has to decide their vote. A cool pic is as good of a reason as any.

Pictures matter but in this case I am actually with Ulti. Mass Effect has a distinctive style and that is visible in the pic, even if its not a great composition.

I'm not really for or against the pic TBH. I just have to imagine Mass Effect has a vastly different style to Metal Gear and that the picture would reflect that. Would a picture of the ME2 cast really have done much better?

It may not matter to all voters, but it will matter to some voters who have to vote despite little to no interest in the matchup. And the pics will be what they see when they make that decision.

the Bacondorf sprite is the perfect example; I can believe you didn't deliberately sabotage him, but that sprite is just so ugly and Ganondorf's strength comes from his Gerudo form, not his Ganon form

there's no way Ganondorf is worth less than 40% on Mega Man and Pikachu, and you can tell that by how pathetic the rest of his division looks in the X-Stats because there was a pretty massive underperformance

Oh, they do. It has to be a pretty drastic example for it to make a noticeable difference, but those do exist and they happen more often in sprite rounds.

Snake/Frog is the ultimate example of that.

I'm not even saying the ME2 pic made any difference. I'm just saying it's not an appealing pic.
