and this one will sell super well probably, its the second one they have to worry about when a lot of people who play this first one end up mad at it

anyway, what ive read about it makes it seem really good until the end when it becomes total nonsense, so im still going to play it. If like 90% of it is actually what its supposed to be im sure ill enjoy it.

People actually think some (not all) obsessed fans freaking out over one detail will make the game bomb despite the overall great reception?

This makes me understand trolls a little. I would never troll personally, but the totally disproportionately over-the-top meltdowns are extremely entertaining.

Personally I was out the second "episodic" was confirmed. Fuck that shit.

Some have literally said there will be no more parts made sure to the backlash. Not most of course, but sheesh.

I don't mind episodic because telling a story as long as the original with the production values of a modern game can only work that way.

The combat itself is very fun!

It's not episodic. It's a full game based on part of the original. Both in length and story progression. There is a reason they didn't put part 1 in the title and it's not just for sales!

But I will say, while you could remake the original to modern standards in one game, it would feel incredibly weird. The storytelling of that era is incredibly abridged. If they had told a story like that at full production values it would have felt unbelievably jarring. Whatever else you think about the exact changes they are making, the decision to expand it out so they can actually flesh out the story and tell it in a naturalistic way was the right move, and that did require multiple games..
