Yeah, it's real rough.

Royal had a chance, and it sounds like it does some cool thing, but not the stuff it needed to do to surpass 4 for me.

Royal is fantastic so far but palace 5 is just blah

Palace 5 is fine once you get past the first part.

It's the Morgana stuff that's awful. Just destroys the pacing of the game and it never totally recovers from it.

From a characer standpoint. ITs debatable

But golden improves so much from vanilla gameplay wise

So does Royal

And i love P4G. one of my all time fav but playing Royal now...its just a better game in every way. Royal is arguably one of the finest RPG's ever made.

They put out a questionnaire a week or so ago asking "would you be interested in Scramble being brought to the west?"

It is possible they have not started yet.

I know. Youd think they wouldve already been working on it since P5 was such a huge success. It would likely be a mid 2021 release at best if they started now

Yeah, dungeon 5 had the (seemingly) only real puzzles in the entire game, and that frustrated some people I know.

P5, like all persona games, is also really long. The dungeon suffers from being at the point where you're already kinda tired of dungeons in general

Yeah, Erin Fitzgerald is Chie's VA as of Golden.

She's a great VA in general, but she sounds bad in Golden because she's trying to sound more like the original which she cannot do, instead of doing her own thing.

Probably an issue with the direction more than the actor.

I remember preferring the original VA for Chie but listening to this it sounds really weird hearing her now. Also had no idea Yui Horie voiced her in Japan.

P4 got hit by multiple VA changes if you played all the spinoffs too. Yosuke, Narukami and I think Yukiko were the only ones who didnt end up with different voices. Some of the replacements werent as good, but others were ok like Mercer as Kanji since Mercer and Baker sound like voice clones all the time.

Chie's new voice suits her more, while her old voice was much easier on the ears

Chie's old voice stood out and had character. Fitzgerald Chie could be anyone. It's also just one of her worst roles in general, she's totally fine everywhere else.

Mercer does a great job as Kanji. I don't remember who does new Naoto, but it's...wierd, but fine. I actually like Ashley Burch Rise a lot, I think that's a good example of a totally different take and still working, and is proof that people who go off a out "you just hate it be abuse it's different" being nonsensical.

Naoto has been 3 or 4 different people at this point.

Didn't Baker stop doing Kanji literally in the middle of the original anime?

Also, was just reminded how awful P4G's anime was outside of the amazing first episode. Oof what a show.

He stopped after season 1, yeah.

And the P4G anime is one of the worst animes I've ever seen.

Episode 1 where it was clearly playing off a gimmick of "This is NG+ and Yu has maxed stats!" was real fun. After that was a nightmare.

Even ignoring that most of the story content and extra scenes added to P4G were just bad to begin with and that was the focus here, it just wasn't good from a plain old anime production and direction standpoint.

I don't know the story here, but if this was the situation it's less "high and mighty" and more "I actually can't take this job anymore".

I mean, he could if video game companies allowed their VAs to unionize!

Also I know for Borderlands 3 he wasn't even contacted about reprising Rhys, so he legit doesn't even get the offers anymore.

Considering he left the anime mid season, it's probably union stuff.

Based on his public presence, he really doesn't seem like the kind of guy to say "screw you pay me more" in the middle of work.
