Well, okay, I am being presumptuous. For some reason my brain said "that first match can go either way, but Bob still wins if Witcher beats BotW." As if somehow Skyrim could win the semi, but Witcher would still be the champion.

For what I hear of Witcher's rallying potential, I'm not ready to say it can't.

I'm no stranger to picking weird picks to win the final match (see: Red v. Blue, Melee), though this is the first time a pick like that will make the final match (hopefully, looks that way at least). It's no guarantee, but it's kept me invested in the contest. If I went with my older bracket, it'd already be dead by this point, so it looks like I made the right call.
And I'm free to vote for my favorites in the lesser matches, since those points don't matter as much.

We haven't seen a Witcher rally yet, but that's because it's naturally strong enough here to not need one yet. But once it's pushed... who knows?

If we hold Skyrim and Mass Effect 2 constant from 2015, BotW is only expected to get 51.64% against Witcher 3.

Maybe we should hold off the azuarc celebrations until after the finals begin...

I would be skeptical if we could hold Skyrim constant. But whatever happens happens. In some ways, I'd find a BotW blowout interesting, and in others I'd much rather see a close match. I suspect the truth will be somewhere between the two.

I find it funny that Im only going to place 49th in the guru contest but still be in the 98th percentile for the entire contest. I guess were gurus for a reason. Great job guys.

He best @Gall , an early leader, he bested @JONALEON1 and COVID-19 with great brackets overall, he bested myself and @Dr_Football in a quarterfinal showdown when W3 bested Persona 5, he bested @Ngamer64 and Yoblazer when Skyrim overcame Dark Souls... and finally he bested @Big_Bob when he bet it all on Zelda to hold up against Witcher 3.

He knew all the trends, he knew how all the voters would think, he knew which upsets to go for and which to avoid, how to make a bracket just cookie enough but believing in Witcher 3 still.

Thank you all for your gracious remarks. And yeah, JONA was always the man to beat for me. If you saw the position I was in midway through round 2, I was basically down 11 points with 12 to gain. (Plus we each had a 4-point match the other couldn't win, both of which panned out.) Anything breaks even slightly differently, and we'd be congratulating JONA instead, who did a fantastic job in the first 2 rounds in the contest. He just had the misfortune of backing The Last of Us and Kingdom Hearts 3. Those two games aside, he only missed six points in the entire bracket. I may have missed 6 on RDR and dropped two rounds of Undertale, but if those are my two big whiffs, I still missed more points (10) elsewhere. Objectively speaking, JONA had the better bracket. His misses just counted for more.
