And Future Connected finished after around 7 hours. Its...not great. Except for the Ponspectors.

Thats disappointing to hear. I was waiting to play it until after I beat the game again since it's been so long. But I think the general reaction has been pretty middling.
Unfortunate since Torna was such a smash hit. Oh well, Melia is my girl so I'm sure I'll still get some enjoyment out of it

Yeah, if youre a big Melia fan there are definitely things to enjoy, and the shoulder is a very pretty area, but I found the rest pretty lacking.

I don't have high expectations for Future Connected, and honestly if it's a filler arc I'm okay with that. Xenoblade is a complete story and they don't need to shake things up.

My hope was that it connected to XC2's ending but it sounds like it's more tying up loose ends for NPC's from the main story so my expectations are set accordingly

Manually tracking is the only way. I'm pretty sure there's no Achievement for beating every Unique (just most of them), so it's entirely a personal goal that I probably won't be attempting.

With all the QOL improvements they put into this, I'm surprised that some Unique/general enemy menu wasn't one of them. It would have looked great too - enemy designs in this game are so varied.

yeah I just pulled up a list on the wiki and going through them 1 by 1 and trying to remember if I killed them or not.

I'm at 221 affinity coins so I know there's at least 34 more for me to kill. Which seems like a lot, but 4 of those are 4 of the 5 superbosses I haven't killed yet and then quite a few seem to be thunderstorm and other weather specific ones

185/200 achievements but completed all the ones in the Trials category by connecting all the NPCs on the affinity map

of course I have to assume I got all the ones on Mechonis while I was there although I have no way of knowing at this point. Whatever it ends up at I'll settle with that.

surprisingly quite a few I missed in Colony 9 like 3 or 4 of them including a level 6 one that only appears during a certain time of day

Always hated fighting him, but got a really good chain combo after several attempts that took out 85% of his health then Melly's poison was able to finish the job

sad since X had a good bestiary that showed how many times you beat something, how many times it wiped out your party, along-side its stats/HP, time/weather conditions, as well as their item drops (listing the ones you've obtained, and ???s for ones you haven't). For Unique Enemies ("Tyrants") it even showed how many people world-wide have beaten/been defeated by the enemy!

After some great collectible/loot RNG earlier on, karma has come to bite me on the Bionis Interior - 83 failed pickups before the first Black Liver Bean (and this is probably the worst area in the game to run around looking for pickups).

That's another minor annoyance - we can't track Colony 6 reconstruction items. =/

Finished it! Will probably go back for endgame quests (I just did Bana and Tyreas), but will likely go through Future Connected first. And actually play done other games too.

superboss 4/5 dead - Level 114 Blizzard Belgazas

This one I had to drop Melia and control Shulk again and sub in Reyn so I had 2 tanks chipping away at him while I constantly spammed healing and Monado Armour

ended up being like a 10 minute fight

Went through the rest of the unique monster list and I'm at 253 with just Avalanche Abaasy to go

So I missed a single 1 on Mechonis augh

Pretty sure I missed the level 57 fortress mechon on Sword Valley. He's easily the toughest enemy there. Super difficult to best the first time you're in that area, and I don't think I ever went back for him.

Melia kept dying again like halfway through when the dragon went berserk so I once again did the Shulk/Reyn/Dunban team to use Monado arts when I wanted without having to have meter to do it

Yeah, I ended up passing on him too. I barely eked out a victory against the Lv53 Reinforcement Mechon, then that guy marched out to take its place and I just said "nope" and got out of there.

I didn't get the one that was near the Bionis Wound area either. And I also skipped that Lv70 one that shows up in the Factory later on.

God damn Melia's insane at taking out higher level Uniques. Would have never gotten Seven's fifth skill tree so early otherwise.

Hooray, I managed to kill the level 75 Gogols and Vangs to get the parts needed for Housing Lv 5, while only being level 68. Used Melia, Shulk, and Dunban. Made sure to do it at night with Night Vision gems.
