Deny to a certain extent. Not all cops are bad people, that's hard to believe since the departments are actually pretty diverse in who they employ. The part where I think it's true is that the good cops don't do anywhere near enough to prevent the bad ones from doing harm. They become complicit by sitting idly by and letting it happen without screaming to the heavens about it. All cops aren't bad, but even a lot of the good ones aren't good enough.

This. I believe there are plenty of good ones, but they're either not doing enough to stop the bad ones or they're being punished when they try to.

But no, and thinking that doesn't help anything. The thing we need now more than anything is more good people in the police department, which means we need more people to think they can change the system to be better by joining.

The smaller the town, the better the cops, I think. Most of them in my town are pretty good guys

The small town to the south of me had a force of like 10 guys, and it turned out the chief was a little crooked. So 5 of them called the state police and arrested the chief and 3 others. I liked that

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to hear that some of the cops that get killed by gang members are contracted out by their coworkers for the same reasons.

I'd say the chances of just about anything being 100% when it comes to hundreds of people is pretty astronomically low, but if you believe that, then you're agreeing with ACAB while spending most of this topic arguing against it. Which should highlight a flaw in your logic.

And that's kind of the point of the mentality of ACAB, while I don't agree with the word choice, the message is that it's not enough to be a good cop just when the bad cops aren't around. The fraternal order of police is a union that encompass nearly 350k police officers. There's a good chance if your local city that you're proud of the police aren't already a member, their union likely follows their steps. Immunity clauses that have been negotiated by them and other police unions are a giant part of the current problem.

And again you see how we're getting back to the point that just being a good cop individually isn't enough when it's a systematic problem that isn't isolated to one city, state, region, or any other way you want to try to divide. 4 officers were involved in Floyd's death, only one of them might have had his knee to his neck, but none of them said enough is enough, let him go or arrest him, he's not a threat to anyone now.
