Wow that Rogue deck is dirty

Hahahahaha holy shit, that might've been the highlight of my entire Hearthstone career. Went up against a Kael'thas Druid who blew his entire load in one turn; like, both Survival of the Fittest's, killed my entire board, put another 11/13 Manasaber in play, too, and his Kael'thas was a 13/18 with Taunt.

My response: play Headmaster Kel'Thuzad -> Shadow Word: Ruin into my 1-mana Murozond I got from Dragonqueen to buff my entire board, hand, and deck by +8/+8. God that was fucking amazing, I laughed so fucking hard at how fast he conceded; I didn't even see past the first Murozond result!

I got averageish pack opening luck. 75 packs, 4 legendaries from packs, 1 from the free login bonus.

That said, not super thrilled about the legendaries I did get. Only one dual-class legendary. A lot of legendaries where I'd probably need to craft a lot of other cards to actually make a deck that might run them such as Rattlegore and Mozaki. Star Student Stelina is the only one I expect to easily slide into a deck.

Epics...0 from some classes, but 5/6 Shaman epics and 4/6 Paladin epics, I like both those classes so that seems alright.

Got Illucia as my free legendary, and bought 40 packs. Opened Ace Hunter Kreen on my very first pack, so it looked like another good expansion for legendary draws.

24 packs deep, Professor Slate. Okay, average amount of packs for that one. 32 packs deep, Infiltrator Lilian, so definitely feeling good now with 3 in 32, but with only 8 packs left I'll probably have to buy some more.

I have to buy 32 more in addition to the 8 I already have to finally get Speaker Gidra, taking all 40 packs of the pity timer to get her. Four in 72 packs isn't terrible but that last stretch was brutal. I bought the last 20 or so one pack at a time and I was going back and forth from the shop screen to the pack opening screen over and over...

I've been playing around with Secret Passage, I think there's something worth looking into with that card. It's pretty good.

Uhh no that's not really the same thing at all. You swap your hand into your deck and then at the end of your turn you swap your hand again. Why should you get to keep new cards in your hand instead of swapping them into your deck?

It's absolutely the same thing. You played the card. You paid the mana. You keep the effect. Why should a minion with a deathrattle of deal 2 damage stay on the board, but a lackey in your hand that does the same thing be removed?

Because the spirit of the card feels like your entire hand is supposed to shuffle back into your deck at the end of the turn. This is not complicated

Lightning Bloom is 100% getting nerfed to cost 1 mana. That card is laughably, indefensibly stupid.

Lightning bloom costing 1 would be hillariously useless as a card. It would be innervate (except with 2 overload).

Played one whole game so far this expansion as a Reno Priest against a Demon Hunter. They played Nethrandamus and got themselves Turalyon and Lucentbark, the former immediately killing the buffed up taunt minion I had that until then they were unable to deal with as well as another minion a turn later when I forgot Turalyon still existed and played right into it, and the latter getting revived multiple times because of soul fragments and the 3/5 taunt lifesteal minion that no other Demon Hunter seems to run.

This deck is disgusting but my first game was also against a quest priest and it definitely can't win that matchup.

Okay 2nd game was ALSO Priest and he outhealed as well. I think this deck is auto loss against Priest. He friended me after the game and just said EZ CLAP and unfriended. Priest players are such trash

Got pretty excited about the new toys for odd paladin in wild between tour guide and goody two shields and blessing of authority

Went to try them out; realized I'd never actually made a wild odd paladin, went ahead and crafted a copy of muster for battle and quartermaster.

And then faced three secret mages in a row going 1-2. I didn't realize secret mage had come back in popularity. It's not a great matchup for odd paladin, though thanks to being a deck with a lot of AoE.

Goody Two Shields and Tour Guide were good as expected. Blessing of Authority...I cut down to one after being stuck with two in my hand the first game when the opponent was keeping my board clear. It is quite good against a lot of stuff in wild, since a lot of removal in wild right now is just damage, but man, being stuck with two in hand when you can't get board does suck..

Played two games today, both against Druid. The only thing better than Druid having an entire deck of +4/+4 minions is when I also have them except they all cost 1, because Keymaster Alabaster keeps the buffs when it gives me the copies.

2-0 against Druid so far, please ignore the fact that neither of them ever drew Guardian Animals.

Not sure why he conceded; he'd have been able to reload with Overflow the following turn, though I think the number of cheap spells left in his entire deck was 3. I think he realized that the final attack he was about to make was only going to draw ME two cards and just shame-quit.

Yeah I played Illucia and my opponent immediately played my Kronx. After a few seconds he made an oops emote realizing that he just drew my Galakrond for me for next turn.

I find myself hesitating to play Illucia a lot of the time though because I don't want to give my opponent all of my cards! Like yeah I can disrupt his combo (if he has one) but I'm not about to give him my Zephyrs or Galakrond

I'm 7-0 so far this expansion with Priest and I haven't been able to play Illucia yet, I really like the card but I'm probably going to have to cut it for an early game minion I can actually put out on the field.

Edit: I think the biggest problem I'm struggling with at the moment is trying to decide if I want to add some more early game minions or cut some things like Feast and Overseer.

I've been really underwhelmed by Gift of Luminance, but you're running more high impact midrange minions than I am. A Gift of Luminance on an Infiltrator or Cabal Acolyte or Waterbearer or Khartut is a lot higher impact than on anything I run other than Sethekk Veilweaver; same for Grave Rune.

Not really; when AoO came out, wild became like...Quest Mage vs Odd DH, with some infinitely growing Ancharr pirate warrior mixed in there somewhere.

I don't actually have a copy of Veilweaver, which is the main reason it's not in the deck. I've already spent about 7,000 dust over the last 24 hours in addition to the 7,000+ gold, so I'm officially in super-stingy mode even though I still have tons of dust sitting there.

I've been playing a non-Reno Priest a bit as well and wanted two copies of Acolyte for it, I'm not sure if I had to craft both copies or just the one. Polkelt isn't going into either deck, I just wanted to craft it to dick around with in the future, but if I wait until then I'll never part with the dust.

The early data is in from HSReplay, and Highlander Control Priest is a Tier 1 deck in Legend right now, taking the #2 overall spot behind Libram Paladin!

I can't say it's often that I pick a winning team at the beginning of an expansion, but here we are.
