Sony refuses to announce anything before Microsoft. However, Microsoft wants their console to be $100 cheaper than Sony's. Sony refuses to do anything so Microsoft can't do anything until Sony does it.

Therefore, the next generation is ultimately cancelled due to corporate bullshit.

MS wont make the same mistake twice. Itll have to just launch. MS should take the loss this time and launch at $500.

Remember, the PS4 launched for $100 cheaper than the Xbox One.

Microsoft doesn't want to be one-upped by Sony again, and that won't happen, since Sony will never release the PS5, and therefore, MS won't ever release the Xbox Series X.

Nintendo and PC gaming will dominate.

If MS launches with a low price like that, Sony will be forced to match, and then their launch will be behind.

They will never recover from when they delay these consoles so much to the point, where they release AFTER the PS6 and Xbox Something X.

Sony changed their presentation to basically be, "you saw what MS said they were going to do to video gaming? We're gonna...not do any of that."

Apparently fucking up so badly that the competitor promising to do the opposite of you is enough to utterly annihilate you in sales is the competitor's fault.

Kinect happened.

Xbox 360 backwards compatibility was supposed to be a launch feature, and it would have happenend then, if Microsoft didn't spend all of its time making the console work without Kinect.

Kinect was a gimmick that should have remained on the Xbox 360, since motion controls more or less died after that.

If the Xbox one launched at $200 I would not have bought one, and I have had the option to buy them since then for $200 and have not....even after years of releasing crap games I dont' want to play.

If the PS5 launches at $300 or less, AND it had 2-3 exclusive games I wanted to play, I would consider getting one. For every $100 over that I'd want 2 exclusive games that I would really want to play.

Even then I have KH3/FFXV/Persona 5/Ratchet and Clank/Spiderman and a bunch more games I can't even think of waiting for me to play on my ps4 pro already, that i'll probably never get to because my stream library is so backlogged and it's easier to play games on my pc. I don't even know if I'd buy a ps5 for $200 at this point, at least not at launch.

November I'd assume and probably the end of it. I don't get the need to rush. Once both are announced with a price and release date they will have loads of pre orders anyway. I know you're on the edge of your seat here but you'll still be waiting regardless. At a guess the middle of September we will probably here something. That gives them two months of marketing and whatever. Not that they need it.
