FTR could be another in the somewhat long line of wrestlers who looked way better than they actually were due to the amount of rehearsing NXT did for their matches.

I really hope this isn't true.

FTR is weird because they do a lot of really dynamic stuff and they have a unique style, and their matches are always above average, but they haven't delivered yet on big matches unfortunately.

With the luck of this PPV I'm shocked Orange Cassidy hasn't slipped and fallen into the tub.

It's hard to appreciate how terrible humidity is until you've been somewhere that is really hot without humidity. I've been in Ohio and Kentucky which get hot with a lot of humidity, and now I'm in Vegas where it gets even hotter but with very low humidity and there's such a huge difference. I just assumed it was the heat making things so miserable, but it's not at all.

80% humidity in Jacksonville good lord. I don't think I'd be able to pop if even Brock Lesnar came out after the match in that humidity. I would fear dying if I did.

Edit: Also that guy who ran up to try grabbing Moxley during his entrance was promptly thrown the eff out. Good.

I don't know how bad it was in Jacksonville but I've been out on the coast off Tampa/St Pete on the boat today and the heat and humidity was absolutely crushing. I regularly go out and day drink all day in the Florida heat on the boat and today felt like the worst it has ever been. We had people who have been on the boat 100+ times before get seasick because of the heat and dehydration.

We are usually out from 7am to like anywhere from 8pm to 1am onwards. Today we had the boat out of water at 5pm.

Okay, that finish to Moxley/MJF was the best though. Moxley is awesome at making good finishes to his matches. Seriously, that finish could not have been better.

Tony Khan said in the media scrum that he made the call to stop the match initially, but the doctor cleared him to wrestle, said he's fine now, and he was sent to the hospital as a precaution.

The fact that they're doubling down on there being enough time to clear him when there very obviously was not, is very gross.

You'd think how we saw a young women's career get ended thanks to multiple concussions where they went "the show must go on" and let her continue wrestling, they'd show more concern for a much older man who's probably had a lot more concussions than he should at this point.

From what I understand, the NFL's concussion test doesn't even take 5 minutes usually if they clear all questions.

I don't know how long it was between Sampson testing him and the match resuming though.

Or to put it another way. He is a VP in an organization that has had to be forced to take concussions seriously and constantly wants to down play it and/or encourages people to play hurt.

I mean if Sampson cleared him to do the finish but obviously not to do any further bumps. Those are two different things.

Unless you think the match was always going to end with some non bumping walk and brawl and then Sammy dragging both himself and Matt up some scaffolding and then tossing himself through a crash pad.

It was clear Matt was insisting on going back out there even from what was on camera.

It's worth noting that concussion tests like the NFL has are hardly foolproof too.

It's feeling more and more like maybe a shorter version of the test was done. But moreover, the whole match should've just been called off. Nobody was going to be upset if the match was going to be called off after that bump.

I think this, among a lot of other less important things last night, will be a serious learning experience for AEW.
