A constitutional amendment is probably not the ideal way to enact complicated policy like M4A that might need to be adjusted later!

It should absolutely be amended to define health care as a basic right. Not the whole policy, but a constitutionally mandated universal health care system.

Anyone can incorporate a corporation with a couple hundred dollars though. Seems too easy to game.

I'm more surprised that this was apparently unconfirmed until now? I always assumed it was true because we've known since 2016/2017 that Congressional leaders were being read in on the Russia investigation since before the election and this feels like an obvious extension of that.

Like "anti-vax" has implications that vaccines are fake, or they make you sicker, or they give you autism. Things like that which have been repeatedly proved false. But that is specifically in reference to the common vaccines that are given to children which ARE safe and have been tested for decades at this point.

If someone showed up at my door TODAY and said "here, we have the first batch of the COVID-19 vaccine that we smuggled in from Russia. Trust us, it totally works" I'm going to say NO. That doesn't make me anti-vax, that makes me not an idiot. But show me medical trial records and a scientific consensus of safety and my tune changes.

I can think of a few reasons people would vote no even if they aren't against all vaccines.

Probably a good portion of that has already had covid. Also, I would expect some who think that it should go to people more at risk, as with the testing at the start, I would not expect there to be enough to go around.

I would also be incredibly weary of taking a vaccine under the Trump administration considering his proven record of falsifying and miscontruing CDC information for political gain, as well as the the amount of control he has attempted to garner by bringing data distribution in house.

My wife and I are holding off until our doctor and the kids pediatrician tell us that the vaccine is safe and effective. I don't trust anything that comes out of the Trump administration about this, since all Trump cares about is being able to declare that he was responsible for the vaccine the beat Covid while still denying any responsibility for how poorly he handled this whole thing.

I've always made sure my kids get the vaccines they need, but I'd be weary about an untested vaccine that came out all of a sudden. Now if Doctors said it was safe, I'd probably get it. But rushing it for political purposes seems like the worst thing anyone could do (and so of course, Donald Trump would probably do it)

If you read the comments on the Facebook poll, they a lot are saying hell no. Never. Etc.

Yeah, some people I've spoken with about a vaccine heres say they intend to wait a month or so to help ensure effectiveness and safety, but will 100% get it as soon as reasonably possible after that as long as there are no first month issues. I totally see where that mentality comes from.

It's who Joe Biden is, and most people knew this already. It's why he wasn't a lot of people's top choice. But it's also why he was other people's top choice. People want a return to normal. Right now, sadly, it's the best we can hope for. A return to normal, with some hope of progressives replacing corporate dems in congress and the senate. We have to make our ideas mainstream. Because healthcare for everyone isn't radical. It's normal. At least in the rest of the world. And one day soon, I hope we join them.

We are a completely doomed species if with a looming climate apocalypse the greatest ambition we can muster is "to return to 2008". Progressive ideas are absolutely mainstream, by the way, the American people are just completely terrified that attempting any positive changes might destroy their lives because decades of propaganda has made them equate helping people in any way with destroying your economy. People reject those ideas for the same reason they reject Sanders in favor of Biden- Americans are cowards who just want to pretend its the good old days and not have to confront the idea that they have been wrong about everything for decades.
