In her......defense......I specifically remember seeing videos of Trump making those condolence calls near the beginning of his presidency, because I remember thinking how fucked it was grieving people were being used for propaganda.

The issue is she lied about what kind of calls they were. Twice. And only changed it when called out on it.

And it's still not really a defense since he only made the condolence calls for media.

Giving all Americans healthcare as a generic polls well, but once you get more specific it polls worse because people can be easily terrified once you get more specific. Nobody wants to know how the sausage is made, it makes them less likely to want to eat sausage. This is one reason why Sanders was more effective at getting out his message that someone like Warren, the idea of running on detailed plans is a total misunderstanding of the American people. We like lofty goals, and do not want to know the details. And divulging the details just makes people find nitpicks that turn them against the whole idea.

If it's a battle between greatness and prosperity against sanity, sanity is going to lose. Democrats need to present a better vision for the future. When (okay, if) they lose, they should consider maybe trying a different plan next time instead of running the exact same message that lost in 2016.

You know perfectly well I did not do that. Trump isn't running on downplaying a pandemic. He hasn't admitted doing that and he's not going to admit doing that. He's running on "making America great again, again." That's the campaign message and it's a lot more appealing to people than "vote for Biden because he's not insane."

First of all, the election has been over.

Second of all, yes, he cited doomsday statistics that were theorized and ended up being hella wrong. Which coincides with our evebtual shutdowns and ventilator panics and such, his daily invisible war briefings and etc, when it turned up here (and also his China travel bans when it was mostly just prevalent there).

I can't see that moving a needle any direction. Mostly because he already is guaranteed to lose.
