I think there are a lot of fracking jobs in PA in particular

Actually immediately banning fracking would be a bad idea from a climate change perspective (since it's cleaner than coal and oil and you can't just instantly switch to all renewables). But Biden isn't for banning it, so it's irrelevant.

Yes. Because it's huge business that gives people a lot of money. The people in the rust belt are in strong support of it.

Edit: Surprised to see that poll of PA though. I know Western PA is more strongly in favor of it than Eastern PA, for reasons that should be obvious.

Biden's plan is a lot cheaper (the 93 trillion number was from the original AOC document that threw in a huge amount of unrelated stuff like a universal job guarantee and universal health care; I believe those two were the vast majority of the cost).

Doesn't it destroy the landscape and produce waste? I am much more concerned about that than carbon emissions. I think we will solve the carbon emission issue with advanced tech (including methods to bury and store carbon if we have to). But don't want to cause irreversible damage to the environment.

Also universal Healthcare would be cheaper than the current system is for American taxpayers!

The problem with this polling is that its likely going to be a make or break issue for those for fracking, and not a make or break for those opposed. One of those things where the people more personally affected with jobs in the industry are more likely to swing vote than others.

So what is Pence doing, citing the lower figure. If we can get everything AOC says we should get for 2 trillion - that's like 6 weeks of GDP - I think it would be overwhelmingly popular.
