But he's been speaking reasonable enough and defending his party (even if they are lies) enough that, if you're on the fence and have reservations about voting for Trump, it's likely you'd feel better about it because Pence doesn't act like a total maniac.

The difference is that the body-armored piss-throwers were interlopers, taking advantage of a volatile situation. Whereas, as was pointed out, the "we need to save our confederate monuments" rally was instigated by white supremacists. The chanting nazis were the real base of that movement.

I honestly don't care if George Soros or whatever boogeyman supposedly organizes whatever BLM or whatever protest either, bud. They didn't advertise a neo nazi, KKK rally. They advertised a rally that people could have strong feelings for, especially in the south with their southern pride and heritage. Do you think that parade would have been so massive if it advertised a racist event? I get they couldn't get permits if they advertised that way. I mean, have you any evidence that there were? It was never conceived as a rally about the statues. It was not advertised as a rally about the statues.

It was conceived and advertised by Daily Stormer people to be a rally where their fellow Neo-Nazis could meet up, at a place where they could conceal their agenda because of the separate statue issue. The notion that this was a protest over the Confederate statues is plainly false.
