It was early for fully voice acted rpgs and given the quality of the voice acting in the rest of the game, this scene is not an outlier. Its perfectly fine and serves its purpose, it just gets unfairly brought up over and over and over out of context. --- From the depths, the thing they called Worm King did rise. Its awkward of course but its supposed to be. Its a moment of levity after having a pretty big bomb dropped on the main character. Plus it offers a touch of foreshadowing towards the burden Yuna bears.
