If you have a starving family and you lost your job, you do this in this order if the above one fails:

Look for another job

Look even harder for another job

Try one last time for a job

Look for a local food pantry

Look for gov handouts including food

Go pick some food from a big farmer's field, he probably won't notice

rob the grocery store, plead starving if caught

You can do all of these before you even think about putting a gun to somebody. You threaten someone's life, they have the right to take yours. Bystanders do too. That's the #1 instinct in the wilderness and seeing as we are just wild animals with a overly developed brain, it applies to us as well without consequence.

And I don't care how anti-gun you are......if you had no choice but to defend yourself from someone who was threatening your life (or your loved ones' lives), and there was a gun near you, you'd use the gun on that person.

No, it falls under self-defence. Despite the "self" part of the term, it also usually counts defending other people. Also the article says the robber pointed there gun at the man, so it'd be self-defence in areas where that doesn't apply to protecting others.

I am not defending the robber, but people here believe they can deem you wortht or unworthy, in this case, to live.

Fuck laws, fuck the justice system, fuck everything. Just have everyone play judge, jury and executioner.

Legally, you don't have to determine that it's real, if it looks enough like a real gun, you can treat it as such.

Police get even more leeway, in the matter. If it's gun shaped it's a gun. There was also a story way back where a police chief got sick of idiots pointing laser pointers at his officers and said that from then on any laser dot on an officer would be treated as a legit sniper threat.
